- act like you're better than the other person... unless the other person has low self-esteem. Then go for it.
- keep repeating yourself - "Oh look, I don't know why I think the way I think, let me impose my views on you THROUGH SHEER MONOTONY" - say you're smart - red flag that you're an idiot - start listing achievements - "I don't have reasons! I did all this stuff, so I must be right!" - talk about your major, degree, or occupation - "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" - insult the other person... unless it's funny - scream, or type all in caps... unless it's funny - threaten to pop a cap in their @ss... unless you have a gun |

why do you want to be right? Who wants to be wrong? -_- I was just ranting about the stupid things people do in arguments because they frustrate me. QUOTE If you find yourself to the point of trying to convince someone that you're right - and the said person does not compute logic or reason - then perhaps you should just leave them be wrong and roll around in their own stupid. You can't accomplish anything unless you try, can you? Even if you try minimally, so it feels like you're not trying, you're still trying. |

What I mean is that some people, like Christians, refuse to be led with reasoning. Combine this with stubbornness and I think it is a waste of time. They always end up saying something stupid like "I know God exists because I just know it". But I do somewhat agree with you - we gotta be patient with idiots. - not reading their posts
Why argue with them if you don't bother to read what they say? |

This is more "advice" for people who think they have a legitimate point that they're arguing for. I say Christians are just like regular people, it's just that they've found an anchor for their stupidity. Anyway, not all Christians are stupid. If you've met one who's actually studied the faith in depth, you might have a more difficult time dismissing him/her as just another religious fanatic. If Christianity was just a philosophy, I think people wouldn't be so dismissive of it. It just so happens that Christians think they've found the way to eternal salvation, and everyone else is going to hell (or limbo, or purgatory). In a way, when they're trying to convert people, they're actually being nice! But of course you can't argue with people like that. |
