Rosey is a connotes female characteristics
so what in your right mind thinks he would like being called a girl's name???

Again, sorry for voicing my opinion.
Good luck with that ... embarassedlaugh.gif

so it's offensive to be called female?
but if someone that identified with being female was called "bro" would it still be considered offensive? gender bias smh

in general an emancipated female is seen as more manly in the public eye, whereas a feminine guy is perceived as being less manly and thus less competent.. as a result girls from early on don't mind being called a tomboy as much as a boy when he's called gay...

It is a matter of personal taste.
Most men don't want to wear a dress but most women can get away with wearing pants.
So much for sexual equality .... Anyway, this is side tracking the topic

The point is in this particular situation. Her bf doesn't like to be called rosey.
It is a male thing ... no guy wants to be called Nancy, Susie, or Rosey ...
Most boys were exposed to this cultural bias (in America) while young
Some would be called gay if any effeminate characteristics were displayed
Thus making gay a term of degradation. And, displays of female characteristics
an avenue of embarrassment and ridicule. So, why continue to call him that
and piss him off???

He probably hates that nickname b/c it's very girlish: Rose, Rosie, etc.
