Yes the french gave some land(Sipsong Chao Tai) to Vietnam. They also gave some to China, Cambodia and Burma. Are we mad about it? No, as long you treat them equally and don't force them into hardship like Siam did.

Of course the french created the country Laos, but the people there were called Lao or Ai Lao. The french add the S to signify the reunification of the 3 kingdom into one.

In an overall yes I do agree with you that we do not have any issue with Vietnam like the Siamese did to our people of hardship and looked down upon by Central Thai. But in some point it can still be debatable in a more understanding manners. Which is why it is rarely debated between the two people.

Why didn't khmer people know their own history before the arrival of the white man? That doesn't even make sense.. I'm not thai, but im leaning toward the thai history as the more accurate. White people are known well to distort history. Look at the history of christopher columbus coming to america.
