Just notice that your threads are mostly critical of the Malaysian government / politicians.

Our miniters are not very good at covering up their corruption yet we can't do anything about it.

I used to deal a lot with government offices from various government agencies / departments and i must say corruption is almost like a norm to many of the civil servants. They don't feel embarass at all asking something in return for their favour though most of them don't phrase the sentence directly. I was asked before ( by variouse civil servants ) to give money, "duit raya", chocolate, prepaid card, breakfast, newspaper, hampers, etc etc.
Big cases of corruption are often being widely highlighted in the media and received comments from top government people but sadly it is only " hangat-hangat tahi ayam ", the whole thing will slowly fizzle away and once you recall it, you'll find that it's not in the news anymore and nobody knows the outcome. What happened to the " mansion " case involving one exco member , I've seen the building still stands and the last news that we got probably few months ago, the exco member hasn't even paid the penalty. I am not a pro-government and neither nor i a pro-opposition and i believe no government is perfect but i believe there is always a need for opposition to highlight the flaws of the government. This does not mean the oppositons are better, even if are to govern the country now, they are going to have the same kind of flaw. |

Poor for Sabahan. Rich state but poor people due to corrupt leadership. Been as federal as we're Sabahan should have more privillaged than us from Peninsular because of her constitution. Sarawak her neighbour more richer than her.

Well,I am not trying to be a government supporter but it's not 100% true that the federal government totally neglect other Malaysian states and pour too much $$$ into Klang valley.
While Penangites complain they are treated like a stepchild, they must also remember that the Federal Government decided to build the Penang bridge, probably Malaysia's first mega project. And another one is being built. Sarawak also have the largest Gas complex in the world while the federal government risked alot to give Sabah an offshore investment hub in Labuan.Plus,Sabah and Saraawak receive the most $$$ from Federal government under 9MP after Penang. The Northern states have the Kulim high tech park which is a successful project. Projects like the Putrajaya,Cyberjaya and Proton city will also help to spread wealth to states like N9 and Malacca. The East-West coast will distribute wealt to the East Coast, the same effect as the PLUS.A similar highway is planned in East Malaysia. Despite the noble efforts by the government, most of this $$$ does to a large extent benefit the same people(cronies). The plan is good, but the execution is bad. Some Malaysian will say 'At least BN build schools and unis',but if they keep executing the plans poorly without learning,we may not be able to afford building 'schools and unis' in the future. Besides that,I also agree that East Malaysia should get more than %5 of its oild royalty. |
