Anybody else tired of non-asians claiming that anime characters are white?
Honestly, do you ever see white people with purple, pink or green hair? Can't say I have. |

Seems like only really creepy and antisocial white people like anime nowadays. Anime is gone ultra-niche in the West.

I never associate anime character as white unless it stated so
 . I always consider them as Asian mainly because they have Japanese name and stuff lol, even though they don't look Japanese. It would be hard to tell if everyone look the same in every anime not the mention boring to look at. I think that's why they added different color hair, eyes, and skin. To make it look interesting and different.

There's really no need for whacky colored hair or eyes. Anime with a more than average realistic style such as Paranoia Agent doesn't need that. Their characters all have black hair and there is nothing confusing about that. Paranoia Agent characters also all look very Asian; I think most anime characters from other anime could pass for white than Asian.

I think if you got a third-party member, who happened to be an alien visiting earth for the first time, to watch anime and compare them with Asians and whites, it would most likely observe that those anime characters look far more white than Asian.
Japanese need to start creating anime characters that are more Asian in appearance. It is worrying how Japanese do not see anything strange by this. |
