Just curious.

I use to be a dishwasher for a restaurant called
"garfields". I remember it because the 2nd day of
Work I came in 5:00 pm and didn't leave till almost 2:00 am.
I tried to work the next day and just walked the hell out: it was one of my 1st
Jobs when in highschool days. Slavework is all I can say...never doing that again.

My first job was at Marshalls department store. It sucked and I was getting paid $6.25 an hour working in the shoe department....My friend told me he got a job at a dealership driving cars around, making $10 an hour. Long story short, I told my manager I wanted to quit and gave her my 2 week notice.

^Had that happen to me before. Job description made it seem like I would be getting a lot of responsibilities. Ended up sitting around most of the time.

5 weeks and I wanna QUIT !

Exit interview???

I used to be a dishwasher for some crappy chinese restaurant called Lloyds Lloyds. fu-kin slave work for 6.25. I worked at 6PM til 1AM the first day and quit. They made me do all the plumbing $hit too, I said I was a dishwasher, adios muthafu-ka.

2nd Job was in the Navy haha. No real chance to quit anytime, but I did quit after 4 years lol. My last days on the ship were spent saying fu-k you's to everyone who screwed me ( a majority of my chain of command). It was fun slapping my TIS into everyones face, man did it feel fu-kin good. After that, I left the ship and spent 3 days in Hong Kong then caught my flight flew back to japan to say some more fu-k you's, then flew to washington where I learned to hate and say more fu-k you's to people I knew for a week, then I came home icon_smile.gif.

3rd job was at a peach plant. Pay was $hit, I ended up doing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, definitely wasn't in the job description. They said electrical and that was all I was willing to do, but after 3 months I found a more decent job so I went and sabotaged an electrical panel (yes it was on fiya lol). The supervisor called me over the radio screaming for some help, but I said I quit. That was fun, sadly I learned from an ex co worker there that that fire only burned up 3 motors 5 relay contactors, 8 PLC's, and 300 lbs of peach icon_sad.gif.

4th job I was doing solar panel installtion for a company called SPG Solar based out of San Jose, CA. The job was alright, a lot of dirty work because it was out in the field, pay was pretty good though, but it was a contractor job, so I knew I would be out of a job in 3 months. The main supervisor was cool as fu-k, but the leadman was an idiot. Didn't know what the fu-k he was doing, so I said fu-k him, and left. After I left, a guy who I worked with told me the next day that they had ran 800 feet of cable that had been spliced because the leadman told them to run the cable a different way haha. Good $hit!

5th job, currently working at a VA Hospital in Central California, pay is great, I have an office, not too much work, work is easy. The only way I'm leaving this job is if I get fired lol, or if I find a better paying job that's federal. I'm the supervisor which makes it that much better, nobody keeps track of where I'm at, so most days I show up to work, check to see what I have to do, and if there's nothing to do, I just tell the guys below me that I'm running around inspecting $hit, and go home for the rest of the day icon_smile.gif.

I quit my very first job at a travel agency because I got bored of just standing around & issuing plane tickets for people. It was for the summer, and I didn't take it seriously. I quit my other job at an investment bank because I found a better job that would help me advance in my career. All I had to do was tell them that I was no longer interested in working there. Pretty simple.

I will quit a job if I feel that I am no longer being challenged and do not see a bright future at the company. There's no point in spending most of my day not learning anything, not being challenged. Everyday should be a learning experience, and if, at the end of the day, I feel that I've accomplished nothing, then it's a sign for me to look elsewhere that'll offer me such a feeling.

I'm contemplating on quitting the job I currently have because I am very annoyed by my coworkers/manager.

I worked at an investment house on one of the fixed income trading desks. It's good money, but I discovered that it's extremely cutthroat. Long hours and high stress. I was only an intern, but I witnessed coworkers who worked in equity research and were forced to stay @ work for a whole week straight.

As of right now, I'm looking into actuary.

that was exactly why i-banking was a turn off. yeah making a couple hundred k a year would be awesome but you basically give up having a life... too much of an extreme. and with the demise of nearly all investment banks...the outlook for that industry is more bleak than before.

i do know a couple of actuaries. they're kinda ehh... i'm just stereotyping based on the people i know and the other people in the insurance industry giving their opinions too. don't get me wrong, it's a great job and good $$. and after you get through the each level of certification, your salary automatically increases so there's a lot less office politics that you need to go through for raises.

No you wouldn't lol.. The only one I would've kept was the Solar Energy one, because after that project, I was supposed to go supervise a new one across town as lead electrician. I could've got 180 dollars a day for per diem, and 42/hr, but there were not benefits, that's what kinda drew me back. Now I work at the hospital making a little over half of that for 25/hr, but the working conditions are great lol, and plus I get a crap load of benefits, and my military time transferred over to the FERS retirement system. Life is good, now if only I can get a better job lol.

^nice man. Most people that get to work in hospitals do say they like it. I tried to do a pharmacy tech thing...but couldnt pass the PTC test to become certified. with your military experience..that helps alot. Im trying to get my CDL license..so i can get a better paying job for now to help with bills etc lol..i wouldnt mind working a factory job though...even w/out benefits..as long as the moneys good.
