Ok, i've looked all over for any info about Chinese rock bands, and the only one i've come up with is Silver Ash. I've looked over a lot of Chinese music websites, but the fact that most are in Chinese and i can't read Chinese doesn't help me much. So, can anyone suggest any good C-rock bands? Could be Canto, Mando, doesn't matter. Thanks in advance. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif)

i'm sure you've heard of 'wu yue tian' ('mayday' is more commonly used) right?? i like their music, sorta rock, but i would classify it more under pop/rock - they sing in mandarin. there's also a cantonese band called 'beyond'. i only heard one of their songs, but forgot what it sounded like coz i deleted it ages ago (i think they are also pop/rock). hope this helps... and if it doesn't... then...uhhh... good luck.

i think Wu Bai's really good. you gotta check him out.
Wu Yue Tian is another awesome band. not all their songs are rock though. both bands sing in mandarin and minnanyu - like hokkien. don't know if they sing cantonese??? oh another gotta check out band - Xin Yue Tuan. great hits. |

He started writing rock songs about tiananmen massacre which got him blacklisted for a while then he started to write rock rap songs about chinese social problems. This post has been edited by IORI: Jul 3 2004, 02:36 AM |

LMF is just dissing stuff, i have never ever EVER heard any canto rock in my life, but iv heard rap, and iv came to a conclusion that chinese ppl where made for rapping :genius: so i dont think they'd have any luck with ROCK! please dont ruin the rock scene

LMF is not just about dissing stuff. just about 80% of their songs have a moral to them. name any song and i can probably point out a "lesson" that people can't seem to grasp

a few of the ex-LMF members are planning to regroup with the guitarist from Lam Kee, which should be quite interesting
