Why Filipinos Should Hate The Usa Options

In 1898 the USA acquired the Philippines from Spain. The Americans thought Filipinos were too stupid to govern themselves, so they refused to give them independence. When a Filipino pro-democracy movement tried to achieve sovereignty the US crushed the independence movement and killed 50,000 Filipinos, destroying crops and killing POWs. The colonial history of the Philippines has been described as "400 years in a convent" (under Spain) followed by "50 years in a whorehouse" (under the USA). After the Philippines gained independence, the USA supported the dictator Ferdinand Marcos until 1986. Also, the Muslim terrorist groups in the Philippines such as Abu Sayyaf were created by the USA to fight the Soviets. Today, most Filipinos worship the USA like they're some sort of saviour or something. I encourage all Filipinos to hate the USA and oppose US imperialism.

yes the filipinos should hate the americans in their hearts but hating them openly would only make the Philippines' no. 1 importer of Filipino products ignore the Philippines as a whole. Visas would be tough, dollar would be hard to find, Filipinos in the USA and other nations would further be discriminated, the already failing RP economy will tumble and democracy will fail. anarchy will prevail.

yes, we should hate the americans.. but only in our hearts. and someday, when they rely too much on Filipinos in taking care of their old and sick, when they rely too much on Filipino engineers in their navy vessels, when they rely too much on Filipino teachers, they'd realise how important Filipinos are a part of their lives. someday, we can proudly tell them that we can live without you, but you can't live without us.

well.. so much for a dream. back to reality. the philippines badly needs the US.

The USA is a greatest democrat country, he like to support, provide, aid and contribute all thing to the poorest countries and weakness and he helps us to prostrate the rouge dictator regime...You guys Filips should ally to them incase some day, the neighbor invade your country, then he will stop that neighbor...

This is nonsense, the USA hasn't done everything right but I think they are a LOT better than the alternative.

If we are going to hate every country because of it's history then Germany would be hated by virtually all of Europe, it's because of setting these differences aside that Europe has grown again.

I see NO reason to "Hate" the USA. Perhaps dislike, disagree... NOT HATE

i don't think anybody should encourage hate no matter whatever bad it is.

but for me past is the past, no one should be living only with the hurt of the past or nobody will benefit in the future.

i know you dislike the us because of what the palestinian affair, but you don't need to push hatred to people, hatred don't breed anything but hatred. if you think you could recruit us haters, sorry but hatred will do nobody good, i think people should work for the betterment of the future.

we really shouldn't hate people and stereotype even the US. the US is merely friendly to the Philippines because we are of good interest to them. We were their last bastion of defense during WWII. The Philippines served as a buffer zone for Asia and the West on this side of the world. well, Japan does too but Japanese people were never really conquered totally by another nation to mold them into the US's culture.

in PI's case, well, idol natin lahat foreign so no question on who's the greater buffer zone.. ^_^

Dude, that’s a long time ago. I read in other Philippine history books and Marine Corps books about what US troops did to Filipinos in the Philippine American, that they killed 200,000 Filipinos, many of them were still boys like 14 to 18 years of age. I read that a common slogan for American troops in the “Pilippine-American War” was “Killing Filipinos was a ni&&er killing business.” But do I hate the USA? Not at all. My grandfather served in WW2 as an army medic as did his brothers served also. One of them died in combat in the Pacific. They’re one of many Filipino Americans here in the US that served since the American Civil War. Some of my uncles served in the Navy and Army in the 1960s through early 1980’s and my younger cousins will be joining the Navy and Marine Corps after high school. So I’m pretty sure my family are proud to be an American as well as their Filipino heritage. They fly the American flag often in front of their houses. This country has given a lot to my family and to my ancestral homeland in WW2 and post WW2. They’ve helped many other countries as well read these two articles about America.

One time when I was a kid in high school, I asked my friends who were like 1st and 2nd Generation Mexican American about what they thought what happened in the Mexican-American War in 1846 and if they hate the US for it. They said that was a long time ago and the Anglo-Americans of the time were different. They don’t hate the US at all. They love America also.

i think it right for filipinos to hate usa i mean usa didnt allow filipinos in the treaty of paris and filipinos are still being burdened by us debt and lately how about the 5 us gis that raped the filipina girl in subic and was taken by the us embassy not giving local authority the chance to punish them and even if we do usa will always cut ties with filipinos of course theres the good things chocolates and cash...

i don't think we should hate the USA..hating them only blinds us..i think we should just be wary of them...be allert to the fact they have a long history of using the philippines...don't buy everything the US gov says as truth.
