QUOTE(fareast @ Sep 19 2007, 04:10 PM) I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo on my neck. I was thinking of putting peace in chinese, will it look nice and what do ya recommend? Also will it hurt like hell? how does it fell? I think that would be nice, but it could be common. Make sure thats what you really want before you get it. Also, check out your local tattoo shops and see which style of the artist you like best. Try to pick someone you like, with reasonable prices. As far as the hurting part: I have two tattoos so far, and I'm addicted. Believe me, you won't die from the pain. It barley hurts, and after awhile it stops hurting completely. ALSO: Never go to a place where they sell pipes and have a smoke shop. Very unprofessional, and who knows, they could be high doing your tattoo. |

QUOTE(fareast @ Sep 19 2007, 08:31 PM) what do you recommend then? Don't let anyone tell you what to get or what not to get, it should be an expression of yourself that represents YOU, and means something to YOU. |

dont get a tattoo on your neck! thats a bad place for a tattoo! someday you might not want your tattoo showing, and if you get a neck tattoo, it will be hard to cover it up, especially during summer
get it on your shoulder if you must have a tattoo |

get a tattoo that is close to you... a dolphin if it symbolizes anything you love or a person dearest to you. it's your body, you have to be choosy in permanently damaging it (opps permanently changing it)!
also, don't let it show, when you are old, you'll be sorry! |

If you're asking people for recommendation on a tattoo.. then you shouldn't get one.. Only get something that has meaning to you.

yea get a tat that means somthing to u, doesnt matter wat anyone else thinks. cuz in 50 years whos left? just u and ur tat.
it doesnt really hurt that much, at least for me. depends how u can handle pain. on the neck will sting a little tho. and it might hurt a bit when it hits the collar bone but it wont be like overly painful, just relax and let the artist do his thing. make a fist and be a man u kno? and think about it when u place it on ur neck, can u hide it easily? i make sure i can hide mine, for later if i need to get a job or w/e |

QUOTE(fareast @ Sep 19 2007, 07:10 PM) I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo on my neck. I was thinking of putting peace in chinese, will it look nice and what do ya recommend? Also will it hurt like hell? how does it fell? I know someone who got a little tattoo on the back of her neck near the shoulder. It was small (If you decide to get one dont get a big one it looks terrible. Dont have it painted in either. I think it looks terrible. Keep it as an open simple clean line drawing). Basically it was a little red buddha tattoo (it was essentially a red line drawing of a buddha. It wasnt a full painted in one so it looked pretty good on her. Very exotic). Yes in most part tattoos dont look good on women. Alot of guys consider it a "tramp stamp". Although there are some exception like my friend. |

i'd never get a tattoo where it can be seen in public, it doesn't exactly impress people eg bosses, gf/bf parents...
