QUOTE Korean society is very materialistic and all the gals hope to snare a rich and successful husband one day and so they spent a lot of time, money and effort to look pretty to achieve this goal. hah, they should rather spend that time in studying so they can stand on their own legs |

Old fashioned people....my mom still has those views but she doesn't make my sister not go get an education and do what she wants lol. She's in med school and I doubt she'd just drop out to get married and become a house wife lol. Hell my mom doesn't want her to drop out haha, she wants a comfy retirement supplied by her two children |

Hello ksurf3rgrl, I am the one who said that and I am Korean. I have never been to Korea? I was born there and lived there before (not there now however) Do u live in Korea? If u do, u will know that I'm not far off from the truth... No doubt that not all girls are like that but the majority is. That's one of the things I hate about the motherland...too much emphasis is placed on looks/money. This post has been edited by Florenze: Oct 31 2004, 07:47 PM |

She probably knows, but I think she's a feminist who feels bitter about acknowledging that many Korena women are in fact materialistic, money-sucking hos, pardon the language I think she's in denial mode and would like to believe that there is much more to the role of Korean women in today's society than what we've described, when sadly it just doesn't go any much further than that. You just have to deal with it.. and meet the right people.. just stay away from that kind of crowd. But you lived there when?.. I know you were born there but how long ago was that? because alot has changed there now. But of course there are going to be some people like that.. everywhere (meaning besides korea). but you included all... so I was thinking.. no. It was in the 90s when I lived in Korea and Korea society then and now hadn't changed that much. And I go back to the motherland at least twice a year and I can see that the girls now are not that much different. I admit that there are girls like that everywhere but it's more prevalent in Korea. It's the way they were brought up...society shapes their thinking...can't tell u how fu-ked up things can be in the motherland. |

QUOTE (qnpfr @ Oct 31 2004, 10:45 PM) Yes, not all like I have said previously but most. Girls are more aggressive these days but most of them still hope to marry a rich husband. Korea changed? To a certain extent....but not on par with our development... It's still a male dominated world in Korea today (at least outwardly) In the workplace, males still dominate...just look at how many female CEOs or president of company there are in Korea. |

QUOTE (ksurf3rgrl @ Oct 31 2004, 02:34 PM) questionaire: doesn't matter.. I just wanted to let it out at the point. well same here.. I usually have wrinkles whenever I rub my eyes... you had surgery? or do you mean you take after your mom with double eye-lids? FantasyClover: I know a girl named sunmi who has eyes like Namji.. and she didn't get her eyes done. Same for my brothers girlfriend.. her eyes are pretty big. How do you know she had surgery? It doesn't look-like she had her eyes done at all.. there are koreans with big and small eyes.. not everyone who's korean has slanty eyes.... well I could tell by the picture.. she didn't get her eyes done. No I didn't have surgery, lol, the very thought of surgery scares me away. But yes, I do take after my mom, and she has eyes that are just right, not too small and not too big. Anyway, it's sounds pretty sad to hear how Korean women at home are still backwards thinking. But it could be slowly changing, who knows. I don't see very many Korean foreigners in America, until recently, I've met these 2 native Koreans, and this girl who was 21 said she was majoring in finance. So maybe she'll go back home and find a job. |

for a bigger eyes effect, put eyeliner on teh top lid right above the eye bit! not on the crease...okies this doesnt give you an eyelid bit it makes the appearance of eyes bigger without the alien look lol
