Hello,
First Post so I guess I'll explain about myself to A.F. 18 Male and living in Australia. I'm not you're "typical" & "stereotype" kind of Asian. I don't do peace signs infront of cameras, I don't like going shopping, I don't enjoy taking my photo taken nor going to those photo booths (though I have been dragged there against my will from time to time). I'm not saying that it is/isn't cool - I'm just trying to get across who I am and how I'm viewing the typical Asian around my community. Anywho. I'm just wondering... I have thin, soft hair and it's perfectly straight - so straight that if you look at me from front on, I've been told, quote "Holy $hit, Your scalp is so White!". With my distaste for [post="long hair"]http://images.google.com.au/images?q=asian+hair&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi[/post] I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips of thickening my hair. I wash my hair... about every 4 days, I tend to find that my hair is dry and doesn't oil-up (if there's such a term) as fast as most, so four days seems alright. and when it does start to "oil-up" it gives it a more thicker look and feel to it. Is this a good solution? - But everytime I wash my hair, it'll go dry and soft - something which doesn't really feel all that great on my head. Any help/criticism or anything else would be much appreciated. Michael =) edit: I can't that link to work so here it is; http://images.google.com.au/images?q=asian...sa=N&tab=wi and it's meant to be replaced by; "distaste for long hair." i just heard from a coworker at work yesterday that a shampoo from nioxin has helped her thicken her hair up noticeably. i haven't tried it myself yet so i can't give any personal recommendations. i plan to try later though.

If you want to like, actually thicken your hair.. you could always shave it because it will grow back thicker & sometimes coarser. If you don't want to go to that extreme (well, not so extreme since you're a guy) then you can always buy like.. volumizing shampoo & conditioner. Use that and your hair will have some umpfh. ;D With longer hair, you can like, blow dry your hair to make it appear bigger ? thicker ? ish. hoped that helped a bit ^w ^ |

I'M NOT ONE OF YOU NO NO NOOO! there's no help for your hair type btw you're born with thin hair and there's nothing to make it naturally "grow" thicker good luck just shave your head |

QUOTE(telliecoin @ Feb 7 2008, 08:34 AM) because he's not willing to change his hairlength or style anyway as he says I've asked others before I've resorted to A.F. forum. I'm asking for help. But I'm also directing what type of help I need and the circumstances I'm situated in. I have asked a few of my friends on my options, and they've suggested for me to grow it long. I'm wondering - if there's any other possibilities instead of growing it long. I've seen the latest hair styles with some guys around the city which have the same 'porcupine-head syndrome' and 99% of them have it long like tiiu's picture. As individual human-beings, we are self concussions of our looks, and quite frankly, for me - it's something I'm not comfortable with. And that's why I'm asking this forum as another means of obtaining info. Quote "and that things that asians do are distasteful to you in the area you live in so are you indirectly putting asians down and by saying you're a-typical that you're" sorry, I don't know how to add another quote lol. I'm not trying to come off as an arrogant arse hole which hates his own race - but some can interpret this view and I'm happy to live with that. I've added that extra information in the hope that it'll let others know which type of guy/ what type of means I'm trying to address my hair. I will admit that I've gone over-board in my description - and I'm sorry. As far as hating my own race goes - Each race has negative & positive attributes (in reference to their culture, history, way of life etc.) and that's how life is - I'm not embarrassed, ashamed or disowning my race but certain portraits are painted when a majority of any race does something a certain way. Though I haven't been here for long - It seems that this whole forum is directed to the mainstream ideology of Asians and that doesn't bother me. I just hoped my issue in regards to thinning hair has a solution. =) so can we get back on track? edit: Trying to make myself sound as natural as I can. shave your head.
no i'm very serious. it makes the hair grow back thicker each time. this is my for real honest advice. there's no way to make it thicker from the current cut/style it is. BUT you can make it grow back thicker. |

I thought asian porcupine hair (AKA MY HAIR) happens when your hair is too THICK?
I WISH I had thin hair. :/ Get a caesar or something. Would that work for you? |
