ok so i had 2 interviews for this one job and i thought i was doing super duper great, i mean i got the impression that i was going to get it
cause the second interview the interviewer gave me their card and said when i have got this particular certicate then give them a call; told me we'll see what we can do for u .. well anyways 2 days from the interview, i come home with a rejection letter.... I AM SO SAD i really wanted that job and i felt that i was so confident like that was the best interview ive done, like i wasnt stuttering (haha in usual cases i do)... does anyone knows what this mean |

you can call the person back and ask what was wrong. most likely you just werent best fit for the position
you should still send a thank you letter though. say something like keep my resume in your files and if a position ever opens up you feel that I am right for please send me a message This post has been edited by mndeg: Feb 6 2008, 07:27 PM |

If at first you don't succeed, try a larger caliber.

If so, you should call. They like assertive people, most of the time. |

i have a feeling the letter was sent 2 days later so i would save money on getting the certificate..... |

I have been rejected millions of time before I got the job that I have now. Enjoy your sorrow while it lasts Then move on Update your resume and prepare for another rejection Keep doing it until you get a job |

No! lol, am I the only one that think you should get the certificate and call them back? The interviewer liked you.
The way I see it is YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE!! If you got the job, it'll pay for the certificate, and if you don't.. it's not like you do now :P If they wanted you before they interviewed this new person, they may have wanted someone else before they interviewed you. If you really like this job then you should call 1) pretend you never got the letter (=X) or 2) saying thanks and just say something relevant with the job. If they see that you REALLY want to be a part of the company, they will REMEMBER you when they need to fill another opening or they'll find a job for you. The three months discourage a lot of people into thinking that it's over imo. There are only a few that will stand out and you want to be the one! You don't have to be the most qualified to be hired (unless it's a doctor and such :P). |

just because you think you did great at the interviews don't mean the interviewers think you did great. it's good to be positive but put yourself in the interviews shoes.
