It's not appropriate in the West either. They're predominantly Christians, and somehow think being gay is a sin. But some countries still legalized it, e.g., Canada, Netherlands, etc. The fact that it's illegal in most countries mean that it's "not appropriate", but people who are different still deserve equal rights. They just want to marry someone they love (not all the time, but w/e). Besides, they live together.

I saw the show called Taboo on Nattional Geographic channel, it's acceptable in Samoa.
