if it came to a war between china and usa which in its self is unlikely, i doubt less than half of those "allies" on either side would be there when trouble starts.

They'd be there in moral support. But, honestly I think that (based on history) the US allies will more likely aid than the Chinese ones. Partially, due to the idea of Liberty that the US and her allies are supposed to represent and uphold, and that the US's allies are so culturally similar and so economically dependent.

China's allies aren't similar in political ideology, nor in culture. And, they aren't really that dependent on China buying their $hit to keep their economy afloat. They'd likely let China fend for herself when the chips were thrown down. Luckily, China's big enough to take care of herself in case of an invasion. But, in total war, both sides would lose. It's just that China would lose a little bit worse than the US.

i wouldnt just call canada a traditional ally. they are the 51st state. japan is a force to be reckoned with and has the capability of making the best nukes in the world. they are actually a very big threat. it's a very nationalistic country, and they are ready to go any time. they spend almost as much money as china, but look at the size of their country and population. they have almost no offensive troops but have a huge spending, meaning most of the budget goes towards nuclear weapon research.

culture means nothing. china is more like japan than usa, but if a war broke out, you can bet your bottom dollar that japan will attack china kamekazi style. usually it is the countries that are alike that have a lot of disagreements, for example india and pakistan. they used to be one country, but now pakistan has aligned itself with china, a country that it doesnt have much in common with.

youre out of your mind. usa is ten times more hateful than iran ever will be. if anyone starts ww3, it will be usa. theyre very good at starting wars, and framing people. you have to remember how america came to be a super power in the first place... through war, and making weapons, without this, america wouldnt be a super power. many of the allies that america has acquired is through war. they decide that its better to be on the side of the bully rather than get bullied themselves.

Majority of those Chinese allies would not show up. In fact the only country you listed who would possibly help China is Russia. And even that is debatable. At most they would supply a few ammunitions while refusing to directly help.

Of course its all subjective and depends on the reason for war. If the US is clearly the aggressor and threat to world peace then China would have more allies.

the usa has been a threat to world peace for decades. do you ever wonder why israel is the recipient of the most foreign aid? most countries believed that israel's assault on gaza was wrong, but what ally govt has actually stood up to it? even if the usa was the aggressor, which it is most of the time, its allies would still stand by it. this has happened with the korean war, viet nam war, and iraq war. the usa had no business in any of those countries, and killed millions of people.

The problem with China's "allies" - they're geographically scattered seemingly even more so than America's, (whom at least has South Korea and Japan, both powerful nations in East Asia.) How could any of China's other allies help out? At most it seems that only North Korea and Russia could help intervene in an East Asian theater, while the rest of China's allies elsewhere watch on the sidelines.

I believe SCO and NK are the only formal military allies.

All these alliances are defensive in nature. NATO is the only alliance that can get together to attack somebody, but they are only in Europe not in Asia. China is not going to bomb Haiwaii, so USA is not going to get its allies activated due to treaty requirements. Remember it's USA that has hostile designs in Asia. If Chinese mainland is attacked SCO and North Korea will certainly help out. Very importantly SCO can keep China supplies with essential war materials. North Korea can keep the southern part fearful of pitching in. The other nice thing about NK is the they have the i'm-unpredictable-i-can-randomly-hit-nuke-button threat.

Anyway no one has said what will the fight be about, which is most important for determining which allies will come into play.


I think it would be good for China to ally with Serbia, not because Serbia can fight China's war but because it strengthens the alliance with Russia. It also gives China a foothold in Europe which we currently lack. I'd love to see Chinese spy planes being harassed outside Televiv Also the more allies you have the more USA interests are threatened. For instance if USA attacked China over Taiwan, the Serbian ally can now legally overrun the US base in Kosovo, which they are just itching to do in the first place.

It's like in the movies. The bad guys betray each other at the first opportunity because they're selfish. They're only united insofar as they oppose the good guys, but end up fighting each other anyways. The same is true here - China's authoritarian regime and its authoritarian allies only have their own best interests at heart. Not saying it's that different with some of the US's allies, but there's history and tradition there (ie US, UK, & Canada fought together several times). Oh, and US bases on their soil.
