Another thing I was just thinking yesterday is about invisibility. Eve notice how everyone slows down when they see a marked pursuit car driving along on the highway?

When I look at the index page at the currently online users and don't see a name in blue, the natural assumption is that there are no moderators online at that time, however it does seem to happen quite often where a thread gets closed or maybe a moderator sends a post, and yet they're not visibly listed on the index page.

I wonder if a voluntary policy of remaining visible would help to A: deter trolls, because they can see that they're being watched, and B: indicate the worth of making a report if necessary.

Sometimes in the heat of battle, it's not easy to work out whether to send a report or just keep on fighting, because there maybe no moderators visibly online at the time.

Anyway, excuse me for trying to tell AF how to run its business. Just an idea I had last night.
