Indonesian Chinese should relearn Mandarin to reconnect with their Chinese brethren.

Chinese Indonesians are Chinese by blood, if not by nationality. I consider them Chinese. They are part of the global network of Chinese people.

there are only 30000 chinese in S Korea, around 10000 in N Korea, and a lot of N korea chinese turn back to china during these years.Most Chinese left S korea because they received discrimination.
I also know some chinese in Japan, they hate China? What a joke...

I think Indonesian Chinese should be loyal to their future and their own interest despite their current Indonesian nationality or their Chinese ancestry...

If they have more opportunity to be... let say a US or Canadian citizen rather than Indonesian or PRC... so go ahead and be prosperous...

overseas chinese should only give loyalty to states that give them safety and opprutunity like the US Canada and Europe. imo chinese indonesians should move somewhere else with their investments so they wont be targets of future attacks.

Indonesian Gov't should do like US Gov't when deporting ppl. Just give them 1 plastic bag, 1 under wear, 1 pant, 1 shirt, 1 pair of socks and 1 pair of shoes. And almost forgot, their money less than $300.

When I was in Atlanta, I saw 2 INS (ICE) agents escorting a Chinese guy with a clear plastic bag on a flight to LA to be deported to China.

So, my advise... stop b!tching and do something, either leave of just call them self Indonesian.

I was even in one of those gathering where the guest speaker was a Chinese Indonesian who identified himself as a (tion hoa) ABRI Gen there, b!tchING about how dumb the Indonesians for not elevated him to higher rank.

And when I was in Holland, well I don't have to go any farther how the Chinese Indonesian there feel about Indonesians (they call them "hwa na" or may be dumb fuk ).

I agree with you... nowadays its hardly Indonesian Chinese suffer presecution or any racist discriminations...
We all enjoyed more freedom now... And personally, I don't have any problems or bone to pick with Indonesian Chinese...

One of my fave athlete is Susi Susanti.. and she's Indonesian Chinese.

No Indonesian female athletes ever surpass her heroic effort and achievement.... and did we still questioned her loyalty...? She's Indonesian first...

For decades, Chinese have been targeted just because they are Chinese. For decades, Chinese in Indon have been suffering all kinds of evil things such as lootings, rapings, killings, scapegoatings, blackmailling, insults, racist discrimination, done by Indon government, supported by Indon military/police, happily justified/supported by Indon people.

Reading many writings in this forum, I always wonder... Should Chinese loyal to a kind of people/country/government who treat them badly for decades, just because Chinese have different color of skin than Indon's?

In my opinion, Chinese should not loyal to Indon.

Why would they do that when most of the natives have varying degrees of Chinese blood in them in the first place anyway, from earlier migrations from China during more ancient times? Some native Indonesians look more East-Asian than Polynesians because of this.
