Is there something wrong here? According to the official statistics from that website of the Viet government the percentages of female and male in our country is 50.85% and 49.15% respectively (2007 statistic). I always thought we got more male than female. |

most of the men die off during the war, and most boat people were men trying to find a better life for their family, some never made it. and that is an honest truth.

a lot of ladies gonna stay single. It's time to legalized polygamy.

Gwe never makes any constructive comment in any topic.
@chingy: I thought of that too, but 50% of Viet population are under the age of 20 and 80% are under the age of 35. So you see most Vietnamese are born after the war so I thought that wouldn't matter much. @Gene: Nam Nữ Bnh Đẳng! I'll protest if Vietnam allows polygamy. @Kaosq: why? Hard time finding boyfriends? |

it is slightly higher. Probably because many families will stop having kids if they have sons, while they will keep having kids if they have daughters.

Women live longer than men, so no big surprise. Men died earlier due to the stress caused by women.... |

Hard time finding boyfriends? its only been 30year since the war ended, most of the men that die during the war and boat people was in their youth, it would take a generation to recover. 30year is not gonna cut it. |

^ always my @$$. Most of the ones that married oversea people are from rural places of "miền Ty" (Mekong delta region, southwest of vietnam). Don't clump all Viet women into this $hit. You rarely find central or northern Viet women marrying foreigners.
eh why did I post this? |

Not to be rude, but we need statistics to back up these statements:

^ You never read Vietnamese news often do you? Every time you heard of some Viet women marrying some foreign citizens, it's usually the girls from Cần Thơ, Bến Tre and the provinces around there. Or you can just surf around Viet-language forum and read what members there say about this issue.
Wait a minute, your Vietnamese level is never advanced enough to read these stuff. |

So are you saying that they write articles when someone marrying a foreign citizen? I don't care who said what...it may be just a rumor. I need statistics...the more sources the better. If they all say the same thing then I'll gladly except it.
In other words, you made a hypothesis base on those few articles that YOU read and pass it on as facts. ^____^ This post has been edited by Gene: Aug 30 2008, 09:27 PM |
