I heard this from a friend so I googled it to find out if it was real. If Spielberg is thinking of doing it then it will probably be done. Why is hollywood remaking non-american movies? Haven't they learned from the past disasters? It seems like Clint Eastwood is the only one making original movies. |

It seems like Clint Eastwood is the only one making original movies. The movies have been disasters (in terms of quality), but they've made a tremendous amount of money with them. In all honesty though, Hollywood has never been the place for original movies. American indie movies are where it's at (and has been at for the last 10-15 years). Hollywood's purpose has always been to make money, above creating new and interesting cinema. Unfortunately. |

The idea of Spielberg and Will Smith filming a remake of old boy is more disturbing than the ending of old boy.

Hollywood's constantly remaking films or TV shows that did well in foreign countries. See the Coupling fiasco, that TV show about the time-travelling cop stuck in the 1970's, The Office, tons of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean films...and who knows what else. America just doesn't have any good ideas. Usually they're not even good at ripping other people off.

im not even american but is the hollywood bashing really that necessary? i agree remakes of foreign movies are trash but i don't believe you should discredit the movies they have produced. im pretty sure every person who has a favourite movie list would have atleast one movie made in hollywood/america

That movie is only good as a Korean revenge film.
