Assuming Jiang has to DIE before handing over power to successor Hu Jintao....

Mao died and went to Deng

Deng died and went to Jiang

Like I stated before somewhere else...I don't think it can be done this easily. Jiang definitely will still have some kind of control upon the government. Although "officially" he has stepped down and Hu is now the leader, Jiang has built up a strong base of diehard supporters who are still holding high offices in the government. Although HE is physically removed from the position, his influence will still continue to spread.

However, I hope that his lost presence will allow Hu to make some decisions on his own that will push China forward. beerchug.gif

dont you love to wish all power transition can be smooth as this one ?


chinese communist party has just demonstrated that a power transition within
a dictatorship can be tranfer without resort to violence of massive murder.
this happen very RARELY among dictatorship.
