Some people say they're shy but they're good at writing or speaking. But i'm the type of shy that doesn't know how to speak AT ALL.
That is, i get confused with what people say, and i get confused with what i try to say..so i get stuck and look like an a**.

Any tips for Jobs? I can do clerical stuff( where speaking is not required) but recently there are no cllerical type jobs at all.

You are really limiting yourself to all the possibility out there. Shy people aren't really respected in most corporation. They usually get look over for promotion and co-worker will take advantage of you since you are too shy to even speak up about it.

shy doesn't mean bad learn to ask intelligent questions and people will see you as the deep thinker type.

most jobs require team work, or some form of social interaction / ability to communicate.

you have to overcome this handicap.

my suggestion marry an outgoing women who can complement you

or maybe god made you shy for a reason, so you can learn to get over it

I can relate. No, I do relate.
I'm too shy, but I try and do overcome that fear alot. =)
I know I'm not capable of jobs at fast-food restaurants due to my lack of slow understanding and speaking, but I know how to organize...wait, I'm messy, but not sloppy. haha And back rooms are no good for me. Don't even go there.
I tried numerous times asking for job apps. and openings at places I might thought were comfotable for me, but they friggin' took one look at me and said, "no." in a flat tone. wth?
Maybe because the way I looked.
A kid.
I did and do dress normal and formally or casually whenever.
Or they're being prejudice and think I won't be capable of doing something.
As of now, I'm just studying, but studying is doing me no good as well because I don't have a major in mind. And I'm just taking GEDS.
Hell, I even asked people I know if wherever they work at might accept newcomers and they might've thought I'm not capable because they would say flat out that either they're running slow (don't u need more ppl if you're running slow?) or they're full and don't need anyone right now. (note: they know me but not that well to judge me like that)
So, yeah any one care to suggest?

Hi Michiko (I'll just assume you're the Japanese lady used to work at the tutor center at ASU), uh yeah, to do all that stuffs you basically need to do alot of good stuffs for society as a whole or a nation and for the spirit too. Like stuffs that very few people can. For me, it is mathematics and the sciences. And ideas, you know stuff like that. You and your people work very hard becoming better and better (better than me-Talktohand ) [but there like alot of bad stuffs still there], and I am kind'a ashame but yeah... You know, I don't really know you, and think like that but there are people in this world who just judge other on look (forget about them .) You taught me something and not even know it.

i guess you could be a bush ranger. my sister's bf (24 yo white dude) has an anxiety disorder and he's training to become a wildlife ranger -- that way, he can avoid human interaction and gets to take care of animals. i think it'll be much more fulfilling than say..data entry or some other clerical job.

I had that happened to me before too, that same speech "were just real slow now and not hiring". Hunting for job especially during these rough economic times is difficult. I just got out of construction work for a while now..and am seeking while attending school. i know what you talking aboutz.


get that degree if u going to college. white collar jobs are definitely well worth it as i have worked all the crappy blue collar jobs lol

anyways, i found some jobs recently and they were low jobs which i have no problem doing, but then it says "You have to be a good communicator and have superb people skills"

that's when i went "aahhhh F**k, here we go again"

I don't have those speaking skills AND they don't want to teach them to me so what the heck am i supposed to do.

data entry is not available. Data entry and filing have been incorporated into ADMIN ASSISTANT. WEll that's what i've noticed

They have also incorporated into Receptionist. So you'll find admin assist or reception who do data entry but not purely data entry jobs

Honestly, it is true that being shy is not a bad thing. Nevertheless, I would suggest for you to read some personal development books. Seriously, what's holding you back? What's making you shy? Should you really care what other people think? I am a shy person, as well, but I'm learning to overcome it. Let me know if you're interested in making a change; I can suggest some books for you.
