My friend showed me a newspaper cutting from last year's newspaper a few days ago about a new 'Negaraku' melody. The lyrics wouldn't be changed, only the melody and tempo as well as the beat. It said that it will be heard in public for the first time last year during National Day. Do anyone here have any further information about this issue?

It's strange, the "Negaraku" we sing in school is still based on the old melody. When will the "Negaraku" be officially updated?

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the change (hopefully it's nice, 'cause I haven't heard it yet) and I hope it'll be done in the near future. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_smile.gif)

I'm pretty sure that we have already reverted back to the slower paced original Negaraku albeit with some subtle differences. they experimented with the more upbeat tempo for a few years... the band in my old school made it sound like circus music. I prefer the slower version...

i thot the new beat was taken from the old time since we had our independence from the British, and if i wasn't wrong, they remove it in somewhere 70s or 80s. and now they put it back.
the difference i realized was the drum beat another instrument, i wasn't so sure whether it is a clarinet or trumpet. :headphones:

- Its actually, an upbeat, fast paced version of the ol' one. Of course la, we orang muda need a fast pace song, not the usual snail garden version. The Barisan government has achieved 0% in reversing the trend of racism.

While South Africa has disbanded racism through the government's initiative after the global news onslaught, our Malaysia government leaders are propagating RACISM and FACISM in every way.

In term of racism, we are the most uncivilised country in the world. Look into our neighbouring countries of Asia, they are advancing economically on a straight forward objectives, for their citizens.

Whereas, we are moving in deviationist path, widely off the international economic theory, for the sole objective of propelling the well being of a supreme race.

Mahathir era is over, here we have Badawi. Is he changing the trend? Not a single sign of it!

How about the future under Nazib?

Sad, sad. They have more camouflage in readiness.

I once went inside a jewish website which were condemning Dr M's remarks about Jews 2 years ago, they provided some negative background about Malaysia among them that Malaysia's national anthem was composed by a Jewish refugee from Russia. It was really hilarious. I expected better of the Jews. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/Talktohand.gif)
