i dont get it, you guys get upset when a high profiled  filipino "acknowledges" their spanish heritage in the media, and yet u willfully accept that filipinos are "hispanicized" and promote our culture and identity as hispanic

What is up with you with Spain and Spaniards. look we dont like spain too but we dont go all over the net screaming it to everyones face to express our anger. Why do you always come to Philippines/Filipino chat and urge all the Filipinos to be racist against Spain in order to join your cause. Your always starting flamebaits between the Filipinos and Spain, and that is enough to get you temporarily banned or warned again... but if that is what it takes... you should've seen it coming. For the last time, stop bashing Spain and urging Filipinos to be racist...

so im not allowed to have my own personal opinons about spain? i have to be exactly like the "regular filipino" or i am going to be punish? spain forced our ancestors to love spain or die, and now we are the descendants of those who were forced and you are now forcing me to love spain or be ban? isnt that irony. im sorry but i can not, i am thinking of the ancestor who died, i can not disrespect them or lapu lapu who fought for freedom who fought for the beautiful and noble pre-colonial culture which many are knowingly killing by not preserving them.

you know ray, you are no better than a communist or dictator. every filipino has to think a certain way or else be shut up. why cant i show my anger for spain and what happen with us? i am not a direct descendant of an igorot, lumad, or moro, but what if they wish to recount the story of spanish oppression, killing, genocide, and displacement of their land that was inflicted upon their people? have they the right to do that? that is their history with spain, they were not forced to love spain or adopt spain's culture and dress. have they the right? why can't i who has been awaken to the truth that i am a brother of those people but has merely been sucessfully conquered and i do not wish to be conquered any longer.

why cant i talk about our country's problems? its not flaming its addressing our issues, you guys dont want to hear that our country has problems so u automatically call it flaming? thats sad man, how can we ever better ourselves? Anyways, i see i really can not get us to talk about our problems, so im not going to bother anymore, but my intention was never really to flame but to get you to wake up what is happening to our heritage we are abandoning and losing respect for and our problems that can destroy us if we do not quickly address and remedy them. And because i show pride for the dying culture and speak blatantly and honestly about our problems i am austrocized. i am told i am not really filipino cause im half, im not filipino because i dont speak tagalog, im not filipino because i dont live in the philippines. im not filipino cause i dont wish to call myself a "flip."

im truly embarass to be filipino here, im sad to see we do not have the courage and independent spirit of other countries that has and continues to sustain them for generations and continues to perserve their culture because they honor their ancestors work, but with us, we don't seem to honor our ancestors and so our honorable pre-colonial tradtions are slowly dying away and being replaced by the recent colonizer's self destructive culture, religion etc which he imposed on us. and now we are dividing ourselves over words like mestizo, singing gangster rap songs, and calling ourselves "flip" without care for the pains that word cause on filipinos before us, the pains the very word "filipino" caused upon those before us during colonial days. and im concern about that. but again i can not get you guys to see or understand that perspective, so im truly not going to bother. you can pretend or run away if u wish and be content in your adoption of self destructive customs with no questions or re-consideration whether it is healthy.

i do not come on af to talk only for the filipino chat, i enjoy and admire how the other sections are and how they openly discuss and critisize their own country and people, when i was ban earlier i really felt bad, not because i couldnt talk in the philippine chat but because i couldnt converse with the other ethnicities. i discovered that to learn more about pre-colonial filipino culture which i cherish i might have to look to our ancient brothers the malaysian, indonesian and even pacific islanders cause they preserve their culture with pride whereas we have thrown it away and adopted the spanish culture because he said it was trash.

why dont u think of this, i am born into this world and told that i am a filipino. and just about 19 years of my life i am on the pursuit to discover what is filipino, and i have found it to be a nation but within the nation is different culture from the indigenous to muslim to christian. and i have found it to be in chaos because the christian culture which is in power promotes discrimatory methods and self hatred by putting foreign culture on the pedestal and native culture and native facial features as savage past needing to be forgotten and needing a skin whitening creme to conseal the truth. you on the other hand are on the same pursuit but yet you have another perception of filipino of openlying absorbing everything from the colonizer without thought whether it is good. and that conflict with mine, so we become enemies that is basically how i see how filipino people are, i am only one person, and im sure there is only few who have the same perception of filipino as me, i may lose in number to you but my spirit and belief is strong and can not be broken by a ban from af. we are in a false shroud of unity but we are truly divided people. i will not give u the satisfaction of baning me ray, so I BAN MYSELF FROM FILIPINO CHAT, and i will not try to help u see what has happen to our people any more, if u do not wish to see it for yourself.

Much of what you say you want to discuss is really not the issue. I'm not Filipino, so I'm speaking from an objective point of view. You do bring some good info, some good arguments... but all too often, you just present yourself much too aggressively. If you ever want others to constructively consider your point of view, you need to take into consideration how you present yourself. Most of the time it seems that more than conversing about an issue, you're trying to shove your point down their throats. It's okay if you feel strongly about issues, but you have to be respectful in representing that passion. After all, your opinion is still your opinion, right? It's not the ultimate truth. Even if no one will change your mind, you can respect their opinions and keep that respect apparent in your messages. If you do so, you'll see that others will return the favor.

It may be that you just simply do this completely unconsciously, but I've seen numerous times where it seems that your comments are malicious or outright provoking. I think if you truly want to make yourself heard, you can make the necessary adjustments in the way you present yourself and your opinion will be more respected. But you've also got a reputation to work against. All in all, take a few deep breaths and stick around. Just don't be so confrontational. You can have strong beliefs AND make them heard without pushing anyone around.

I’m must admit I will miss Dalawapoo’s post. Though at times some of his post in the Filipino Chat did come off as a bit absurd and at other times his reasoning was slightly askew, in a way I always found them to be quite entertaining.

you do have the right to your personal opinion and nobody argued with that. but on the other side, we too have our personal opinions yet you sometimes forcibly counter those opinions thereby attracting yourself to other critics. in a word, you're just too aggressive (make that 4 words ^_^). and excuse me, but nobody is forcing you to love spain. who said loving spain anyway? it's just being neutral. you don't really love them, and you don't really have to hate them. that's what in my opinion is what is happening today.

and besides, you can't deny the fact that we have good relations with Spain. yes, we don't forget the past (and we learn from it) but we mustn't deny a future with harmonious relationships.

and for leaving AF, it is a sad loss but to each his own. that is your decision. although, i don't know of another forum where you can interact with other Filipinos where tolerance and patience is high compared to people here.. ain't that right guys? 2 so, stay.
