do you think it's worth upgrading to the final beta version of Window 7 for free now or wait until official release of Window 7 in Oct or early 2010 at latest?
i believe the beta version of Window 7 offers full functionality except a few templates that will get add to Window 7 official version. not sure if you guys heard of this, but my friends told me microsoft allowed one-time free upgrade to window 7 (official version) if they bought Vista version in 2009?? true? |

You can't upgrade XP to Windows 7..You can only install it from boot. You don't have to delete XP.You can just install Windows 7 in another partition as a separated OS.
And if you wanna remove xp it's simple. When you are installing Windows 7 in to the same partition that you have installed XP it will move to a new folder called windows old. After you install Windows 7 you can delete that folder and you can get what you need.. Don't be afraid to install Windows 7 beta version..It's safe to use now.Latest version is Windows 7 beta Build 7000. Fashion Professionals around Atlanta |

I hated Vista, so I had my bf redo my whole laptop with Windows 7. I'm loving it so far!

I've been using the Windows 7 beta for more than 2 months now. I love a lot of things about it.....but I find it quite annoying too. First off---it's beta and that's for damn sure. There's so much troubleshooting. My video card is having major issues with this OP (I have ATI). Randomly I'll be playing a video and my computer goes blue screen on infinite loop. There's a lot of incompatibility problems too. My iTunes won't connect to my iPod. My cell phone can't be recognized by my computer. Etc.... The beta will be over in about a month. I'd save the trouble honestly. At least Vista works. (Though to be fair, I haven't used Vista---been avoiding it quite well!). But alas, I'll concede pretty soon. Windows 7 doesn't come out in a little bit and I'm not going to wait that long and hack into the beta to keep it going past it's deadline for this troubleshooting annoyance. There u go. |

What do u love about it? The overall design and the way things open up. How it reads my 4 GB of ram which is useful when I use Photoshop or Premiere. How all the codecs seem to already be included and my Flip Mino HD videos play flawlessly. All the 64 bit shyt. It's a love hate relationship. Hopefully this is a gateway to liking Vista more before dumping it for the official Windows 7 release. |

I'm still looking into it. I'm building a new computer rig this summer, and most likely I'll install XP to save costs.
Would have built dozens already... if money weren't an issue... This post has been edited by JakeCutter: Jun 17 2009, 01:10 PM |
