As we wished on day one, there should be a change in Miss International 2004, which is to recognize the beauty of color who deserves to win. And our dream came true today, when Jeymmy Vargas of Colombia became Miss International 2004! Congratulations! Jeymmy is one of HKB's favorites, and we congratulate, besides her, the Miss International Organization for its recognition of such wonderful beauty. Hong Kong: The friendliest place on earth. And another very exciting news is that our delegate, Fu Sze Sze, won the title of Miss Friendship again after Cathy Wu in 2002. It is actually not surprising to see her winning this title, as she seemed to be very friendly and 'fun' during the pageant. As one of our judges for Miss HKB International and the webmaster of Chinese Pageant Pictures predicted, Sze Sze made history again for Hong Kong. And she looked absolutely radiant and she should really land into the semifinals, rather than a few Asian delegates who made into the top 15 out of nothing but politics. The ones who shined on the final night. 1st runner-up, Amy Holbrook of the USA, looked stunning and just like a doll. She looked absolutely stunning on this final night, and she does deserve her placement. 2nd runner-up is Olga Kypriotou of Greece, who also won the second Miss Photogenic in this pageant. Mega-favorite, Natasha Borger of Germany could only get a spot among the top 15. Pageant and Politics. Out of courtesy, the winner of Best National Costume is Miss China, Sun Yue. Although it is stunning, costumes from Russia and Mongolia are actually the top contenders to win the title. Also, there are six Asians in the top 15. Most of whom didn't deserve their placements. On the other hand, the two most beautiful Asians, considered by most pageant experts, Misses Hong Kong and Thailand, failed to make the cut. |
