A unified JKM kingdom is unlikely ever, but a Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam Defence Alliance seems much more realistic as all these nations are strategically located and have a growing threat from a certain neighboring bully.

I believe this idea was first brought in by many Japanese and Korean politicians about 4-50 years ago...

What do you think of the idea? Agree or disagree? Please answer (Japanese only!)

JAPANESE and korean? no. Korean and Korean only. Please feel free to make an alliance with Mongolia. I don't think Japan would be interested in something like that. Nothing to gain, everything to lose. We have too much business in China to risk losing it all.

^ i don't mean to suggest anything but just so you know serious and retarded are not mutually exclusive

and on the topic, the idea is good but i don't think you should try to antagonize anybody.. and considering it's a unified NE asian thing ("kingdom"? wtf.. i think economic union is more acceptable), omiting the biggest country in NE asia seems kinda stupid.

like I said, I hope ASEAN + 3 can turn into something like the European Union in the future.

Japan tried that 60-70 years ago and almost got away with it.
Korea can't even unite themselves, north and south.
Mongolia? They need to step up for Genghis Khan sake.

Seriously, it's unrealistic even in a dream.
EU is yet to be seen as a successful model. I personally don't think it's the right thing to do.
UN has bigger and better goal, but then again, just a goal.

It will never acceptable to China.

Japanese has the highest technology level of Air force and Navy in Asia. Their Army? Of course, never weak.
Korean has the highest technology level of Army and Navy in Asia. Their Air force? Of course, never weak.

In my opinion, the most biggest menace to China is Agis technology. (spell?) I don’t know what agis is. But one of my military geek friends said there are nothing can sink Agis destroyers in the world yet. And only 2 countries in Asia have that high tech. Who? Japan and Korea.

Chinese are not stupid. China will never let them work together. Each of them can’t be a threat for China. But, both of them in same time? I’m not sure. Someday, those two would be under control by Chinese gigantic and powerful economic power. But, At least, Chinese know that’s not enough for them.

Anyway, I think Korean can't read and write chinese characters. The pic one the top seems weird.

yea, north-east asian union will never happen without china's approval or their own participation. what is possible is more research in altaic languages to further justify the connection between koreans, mongols, turks. i'm thinking about a cultural union as opposed to political or economic union which will be seen as a threat by china.

Really? Japan and Corea (and perhaps Taiwan also) use the old traditional Chinese characters. The current Chinese use simplified Chinese characters.

Who are using the right one?

This is only a fantasy...given the nationalistic pride in almost all east asian countries, the most immediate problem will be which area to designate as the center of economic and political importance. Though a Northeast economic union would be much more efficient and stronger comparative to EU.

Because the Chinese are not North Asians, they come from South East Asia and Micronesia, and the Chinese people are of malay and pygmy ancestry.

what's the point of having a unity without China? You're useless without the addition of China.

And if China joins ASEAN or some sh!t like that, then the "NE Asian Unity" will be f*cked up left and right by ASEAN.

As if Japan, Korea, and Mongolia would have a unity without China. Use your brain

I hardly think the term "nationalistic Pride" is a fitting term.

Its more like inferiority complex to claim we are below whites but atleast better than other asians thus proving we are less monkey than those other yellow monkeys.

None of these asian countries have a problem with white domination within their own countries but as soon as its another asian suddenly its OMG! This is unacceptable!

Don't give a mental state so cowardly and pathetic the term "pride".

Yap, it's true. We are the new Asiatic race, the third generation of migration out from Africa. Our ancestor just recently came to East Asia from Northern India, Persia and Central Asia.

In many way, there are huge differences between old and new Asiatic. Like we build walled city, complex organization and agriculture like those in Middle East. Many expert said our earliest culture and technology has many similarity with the Middle East.

But today, everyone is a mix between old and new Asian. In China, probably there's no pure new Asian people anymore since we interbreeding with local people when our ancestors arrive in this region and became what we call today as Chinese.

There's already an anti-China club: The US, S. Korea, and Japan.

Adding Mongolia in there is pointless, as it's just a large tract of land with a ceremonial military squashed between two friendly nations (China and Russia). Asking Mongolia to contain China is like asking India to contain China; it doesn't work when India's surrounded by SCO countries.
