How long does China want to grow?

Chinese strategy is economy first, military second.

Between 2000-2010, China's economy quadrupled, from 7th largest in the world to 2nd largest on earth. THe next decade will see China's economy double.

So I guess China wants peace, disguise her ambitions, secure natural resources, and focus on stability and growth . biggrin.gif I like this plan.

China wants peace!! Are you joking? They have done more wars with neighbors and grabbed more territory than anyone else in the recent past (excl. the colonial powers0> Even now they are fomenting trouble everywhere. All they want is expansionism and hegemony. Nothing wrong with that. At least don't say that they want peace.

lol i love how u carefully worded this accusation so it would ONLY fit china. well done.

u can dream all u like of chinese expansionism. it ain't gonna happen. she's going to keep focusing on the economy cuz she's not stupid enough to give US an excuse to start a war. keep spending away on defence and stupid wars, all the more better for china. embarassedlaugh.gif

Why is it that China, once it's developed, automatically has to go into a berserker rage and pummel its neighbors into submission? It seems pointless.

The problem for me is that any more than 3% growth is considered inflation. So right now there is a lot of inflation. I think that is generally understood to be true. To eliminate inflation, the banks will have to increase interest rates, to soak up liquidity. Because public banks represent 98% of banking sector, how can they possibly afford to pay higher interest rates? Also, China has a trade deficit in the last quarter, so the export-driven economy has been less profitable. What happens next?

Because in recent history some of the "most developed" nations have done/are doing just that, so some people assume China will do the same.

I don't think America or anyone else wishes China would do the same. That's ridiculous.

They don't WISH the same, they wish the world will see China INSTEAD of them as the Aggressor and Hegemony.

In which regard they are quite successful, while they are fighting/bombing out their way around the globe at the same time they managed to convince more and more people that china is the real threat which needs to be cointained, accomplished thanks to the medias of the "free world"

Yes, exactly. China is smart, but no match for the Global Oligarchy and MSM of the "Free World", and no match for the stupidity of those gullible enough to believe what they hear rather than what they SEE HAPPENING. It is really easy to condition whole populations from birth, easy to control what information and education they receive, easy to distort their ability to think in simple logic. US-NATO have already invaded and bombed countless sovereign countries, but people with "conscience", or Sinophobes who pretend that they do would still spew verbal hatred against China, while Libyans die and their cities get bombed to bits by NATO. Worse, an elaborate engineering feat commissioned by Gaddafi from Chinese engineers, an underground water aquifer which would make North Africa fertile for a long time, has been wantonly destroyed. What did Libyans, Iraqis or Afghans do again to deserve dying en mass and being bombed back to the stone age and suffering for generations? Who cares... Like Orwell presciently wrote "Two legs good, four legs bad!"

Btw, Asians are so intent on laser-hating China, they have no idea that India is rapidly flexing its muscles, spending crazy amount on their Blue Water Navy and buying a large number of fighter planes from Russia and Europe. It has set its sights not only on controlling the Indian Ocean but also the Pacific Ocean shipping lanes. They aim to be Number Two after the US, and could very well control the vital trade and fuel route from the Indian Ocean to SE Asia.

Also, a month from his retirement, Gates suddenly did a volte-face and declared the US has to increase its military muscle and assert its military hegemony instead of changing to exercise its "soft power". So new stealth bomber drones that can be launched from aircraft carriers and which can carry nukes will be produced.

China and Japan should really watch their backs, all the "noise" from regional conflicts is masking some startling developments in S Asia...looks like East Asia is going to be caught off-guard :

China need a different strategy to keep growing.

Yes. The price of oil m and goal will only fu-king rise, until it sucks up all economic activity. The Chinese realize this, and they are investing in nuclear energy, and fast trains.

India is so fu-king screwed, China at least understand population growth and
and agriculture production.

The one child Policy will have problems 50 years from now because Demographics Doom will be imminent and by 50 years there will be more senior citizens than kids which is bad for the economy and productivity of a country. Europe and Japan is begining to experiencing this today.

That's assuming the government will not change based on the conditions. If there is too little children, then I bet CCP will impose 2 child min policy, lol, (if they have the balls).
