CONGRATS - Job well done. We, the Chinese, have finally eclipsed the Japanese, and will continue moving on to higher and higher heights. |

That chart says 2008. You should change the topic to "we have witnessed" in past tense. But seriously its not a big deal or anything to be proud of. When China surpasses Japan's per-capita income (if), now that will be a more notable moment.

^ The world does not have enough resources for 20% of the world's poor to become equal to Japan's level.
You see, you are not thinking rationally, logically, or practically. If 1/5 of the world's poor (living below $1.25 per day) is in China, then when will China's GDP per capita ever eclipse Japan? NEVER. If you understand history, how long Japan's has b!tched slaped China for the past 2 centuries, and how China lost it's perrenial dominance in Asia to Japan (ULTIMATE HUMILIATION), then you would agree China taknig back the crown is a BIG BIG BIG BIG deal. Do you think this is a game? You guys just don't get it do you. China will always have a target on its back. If it's not the US or Japan, it will be someone else. It just comes with the territory as with any great power. China failed to understand this and I cost us years of foreign occupation. Under these circumstances there is only two things that we need. Firepower and the political will to use it. When our scientific base and military industrial complex fully matures, we will deal with Japan appropriately. |

so u expect an invasion of japan in the future? what makes u say that? Coz China is a hegemonistic and expansionist nation. They constantly harrass and bicker with their neighbours. If China really wants to be perceived as a fair, global power, they should free Tibet (the whole of Tibet not just the artificial Tibet SAR), East Turkestan (Uighur lands or Xinjiang SAR), give back Inner Mongolia to Mongolia, give back Aksai Chin to India, Paracels to Vietnam, denounce their bullying claims in the South China Sea. Then they should try to treat their non-Han minorites as actual people rather than trying to impose Han culture on them. Then maybe China could be seen as a good thing for the world rather than the chonic bully it is currently. |

lol, in other words, china has to destroy herself first, was there ever any global power which can be considered as "fair"? Also by that logic the last thing china should do is to give her territory to tibetans, uyghurs, viets and so on, after all tibetan territories also belonged to the qiang people and other non lamaist groups before "tibetan" expand their influences, the same with "Uighur lands", the lands werent empty before uigurs came and claimed them "peacefully", mongolians commited one of the worst crimes against humanity and should pay up, india should give its northeast regions (and others) free first, viet sets champa free and so on then things would be "fair"..
