The H!P (and Tsunku, the famous producer) have played an important part in the shaping of the Japanese music industry in these past few years. The more "popular" acts in the H!P include the group Morning Musume and soloists Aya Matsuura, Maki Goto and Miki Fujimoto - which I'm sure a lot of you have already heard of. There are spin-off groups (subgroups) which are dominated mainly by the Morning Musume members and includes a few of the other members in the H!P. These subgroups are: Mini Moni, Petit Moni and Tanpopo. There are other groups in the H!P such as Melon Kinenbi, Coconuts Musume and Country Musume and of course the other individual solo artists.
In terms of popularity, Morning Musume and Aya Matsuura are the "jewels" of the H!P (although recently MM has been gradually losing a little popularity). Maki Goto is also very popular with fans and the Japanese public. Anyway I've been a fan of the H!P for a while now and my favorite members are Natsumi Abe (from MM), Ayumi Shibata (from Melon Kinenbi) and Maki Goto (graduated MM member, now a solo artist). |
