Since the defeat of Chiang Kaishek by Mao Zedong forces, he fled to Taiwan and made the Island his teritory. If Taiwan was not part of China, why was there no any uprising against the intruder? |

Yeah, Republic of China governs Taiwan.
If anything, Taiwan is Nationalist China, not Red China. |

You have to distinguished Republic of China (Taiwan) and People's Republic of China (China Mainland). They are both are Chinese people (tradition, culture) so that bot of them want to use the same terms because both of them are China. Hope you have a better understanding |
