Western and Eastern: different standards of Asian beauty?? Options

Hey boys and girls, I'm new on here! Here's an issue I've been increasingly noticing..

Ok, so years of living in a Western country have led me to believe that there are two standards of Asian beauty: one for Asians, one for some Westerners (especially ones who are "into" the Asian look). Is the Westerner's brainwashing solely down to the media (with celebs like Lucy Liu), or they just simply have a fetish for the "common" Asian look?


But do you believe this phenomea is real? Why do you think this is?

okay...first of all....answer to some posts...asian girls are not very obsessed about plastic surgery(except for Koreans maybe) and most of them, including big stars, are natural beauty. Philippines is a good example about natural beauty.

I find it understandable for westerners to be very much obligated to like asian girls because....let's face the truth....everything, I repeat, everything about asian girls is better than western girls. Their skins, their body structure, their muscle composition, their skeletal composition....asian girls are much more feminine compared to the wide-bodied tall Amazons of the west.

But the other factor to think about is the master-slave relation. Asian women have been portrayed in many western films as either a prostitute, stripper, or a slave(ONLY!). So the westerners are inclined to think of asian women as inferior and thereby pursue the pleasure of having an affair with someone who's willing to serve you.

So, the white are totally messed up....or even up to the extent that I could say they're "fu-ked up" about their tastes...but on the other hand...it's totally understandable(but not acceptable).

This isn't just hypocritical, it's extremely inaccurate. First, I'd like to say I have no problem with plastic surgery. It's a personal decision, and if it makes someone happier about themselves then great. LOTS of asian women undergo plastic surgery, but maybe you just aren't aware of it. It's highly likely that more asian women undergo plastic surgery than in "western" countries, because the cost is much cheaper than in the west. Most common surgery is probably the eyelids to create the double lid, second would probably be silicone implant in the nose to create a taller nose -not just in korea! I have plenty of friends from Taiwan and Thailand doing these surgeries.

Secondly, "amazon" from the west? I guess you aren't aware that the national average height for women in Canada(my home country) in 1.63m while China's national average for females is 1.58m. Not much of a difference in height. Now, I took into consideration that you are from the Philippines which has a male average height of 1.63m... I'm going to assume since you think western women are all so incredibly tall because you fall short of your national average height.

Lastly, skeletal structure? You mean small bones, correct? This is from poor bone density. If you can touch your smallest finger to your thumb around your wrist you are at a greater risk of osteoporosis..

Why not just accept that people come in various colours, shapes and sizes and we're all beautiful in the eyes of someone.

I don't know and I'm not in any position to disagree if you live in your "fairy-tale" part of the world. But I happen to have friends who had plastic surgery and suffered its side-effects.

Check your eyes, because my info says right there that I'm from Myanmar, which is a lot different from Philippines. I have no problems with Asians in particular but I majored in Western Hypocrisy in College so forgive me if I know a lot of bad things about people from the West and tend to hate them.

I do accept that people are differently beauteous in each others' eyes. I just don't wanna accept that throughout all of history, Western people have always thought that they're better than Asians. So I try to point out some contradictory points in their concern.
