The pride of Taiwan:

Delicious slowly melting bites of Pineapple Cakes 鳳梨酥

and sips of this smooth fragrance:

This is one of my favourite.

Sweet and sour pork (Gu-lu-rou):

Criiiiiiiiipsy well-marinated pork cubes coated in a fruity sauce! De-li-ci-ous!

^ Haha! No Japanese guy can resist Sushi! embarassedlaugh.gif

About Sushi:

Most people around the world like Sushi, yet if they saw the original dish that evolved into modern sushi, they might not like Sushi so much. This dish, called Funazushi, consists of fermented raw fish and rice that's aged for years. It has a distinct 'cheese' like flavor and most Japanese are squeamish about eating it. embarassedlaugh.gif

Here is carp being prepared for fermentation.

Here is funazushi ready to eat.

QUOTE
Funazushi

Funazushi is a rare type of nare-zushi still prepared near [Llake Biwa]], Shiga Prefecture. Eighteen generations of the Kitamura family have been preparing the dish at Kitashina since 1619.

Fresh funa (crucian carp from the lake) are scaled and gutted through their gills keeping the body (and often the roe) of the fish intact. The fish are then packed with salt and aged for a year before being repacked annually in rice for up to four years. The resulting fermented dish may be served sliced thin or used as an ingredient in other dishes.

So, if you are ever in Japan again and near Lake Biwa..... embarassedlaugh.gif

^ No.
And I don't particularly want to try it, but I won't go out of my way to avoid it either so if someone offered me a piece I'd try it.
