i heard that that khmai singer (cant think of her name rite now) who was supposely shot 4 singing a song bout viets stealing land 4rm cambodia is being sponsor 2 tha states.
wat hav u heard? |

My parents were talking about her and I believe she is in the states now.
What a coincidence. She sang a song about a touchy subject and then she gets shot. |

I think Khmer Krom have some responsibility on that matter. Khmer Krom hired her to sing many song, as a result, it may let to the latess incident...
Question: Is Keo Sarat was killed because he sang about Khmer Rough or what?? |

im not sure her exact words wuz that viets stold khmai land cuz my ability to understand khmai words in songs aren't too good, but i know its about khmai land (khmai krom) in vietnam that was taken from us. same difference, right?
And, if n e 1 can explain her lyrics to me or n e 1 curious, please do so. Thanxs. |

I don't think she got shot because of her songs about Khmer Krom. She had that cd out years before the shooting. The reason might be, that she sang for the opposition when the election was on or other matters (rumours).
I remember the day when i read about her being shot, I was so pissed and almost cried. Those bastards killed her mother in the process. Her father was always by herside in the hospital, and had to sell everything to keep her in the hospital. But i'm glad she's in the states. i think she got shot for singing for the opposition party. i don't know which one though. either sam rainsy party or FUNCINPEC. Rei is correct. she's been singing about khmer krom for quite some time before she was shot. but i'm not leaving anything out. it could be many other reasons or a combination of both. afterall, hun sen regime is a puppet of vietnam.
