^ If you YouTube "lg cyon", you get a whole bunch of commercial videos. There must be one, hopefully.

But Taeyeon is Ajumma-izing these days in her look lol (cute Ajumma though) i'm not the only one who think like that. i'm not bashing her, i guess that's because of her make-up or her expression/mood.
Ajummizing lol Let's just say she looks mature these days. She used to wear very light makeup and we still remember baby Taeng. In addition, her stage persona for Boys is strong.

Here comes the Jumma Taeng moment. icon_wink.gif Recently at the airport.

SNSD in Kuwait Times. Kinda odd. embarassedlaugh.gif

For InitialDJay, I will choose some songs that I like from this list and post them few by few.

Deulgukhwa (들국화, Wild Chrysanthemum)

[1985][Audio] Deulgukhwa "행진" (March)
[1985][Audio] Deulgukhwa "세계로 가는 기차" (The train that runs around the world)
[1985][Audio] Deulgukhwa "그것만이 내 세상" (Only that is my world)

Clazziquai Project (DJ Clazzi + Alex + Horan). Clazziquai means Classic + Jazz + Jamiroquai. Their music has covered jazz, house, electronica and R&B.

Some of their early songs.

[2004][Audio] Clazziquai Project "Novabossa" (Horan's jazzy voice is so good.)
[2004][MV] Clazziquai Project "Sweety"
[2005][MV] Clazziquai Project "춤" (Dance)

you've sold me already! biggthumpup.gif btw isn't it bossanova, it sure does sound like it?!

I don't know if you can catagorize it as Korean entertainment but, there's this South Korean model (Lee Jeong Hoon) who's a member of an Indonesian (boy)band.

He (middle) can't speak Indo though. So I was wondering what he sings. These are his lines in their debut song:

neoreul cheoeum bonsunganbuteo naema-eum-eun...
neoui mimowa misoleul gamdanghalsu eobs-eo~~
neoui nun-eul balaboneun geu sungan-eneun
nareul michige pajyeodeulge mandeul-eoss-eo

Oh and the song begins with him saying: I cheon ship il nyeon

Obviously, "Novabossa" is Bossanova lol They haven't done much of that genre later. Clazziquai used to be called an acid jazz band but their music keeps changing. Speaking of acid jazz, people used to mention Rollercoaster. Do you know them? I still listen to these songs.

[2000][MV] Rollercoaster "Love Virus"
[2002][MV] Rollercoaster "Last Scene"

Clazzi, Alex and Horan have also worked separately. Horan has been featured in many songs with various artists. She's in a group called Ibadi now.

[2011][Live] Ibadi 아빠를 닮은 소녀 (The girl who resembles her dad)

The Korean guy in that picture looks like Infinite's L. Not much in the MV.

[MV] HITZ "YES3x"

He sings only in Korean in an Indonesian boyband? I guess he communicates with his team mates in English? Random fact: I just realized Indonesia is the 4th most populous country in the world after China, India and the US. Do average Indonesians speak decent English?

As for the Korean lyrics,

너를 처음 본 순간부터 내마음은
너의 미모와 미소를 감당할 수 없어
너의 눈을 바라보는 그 순간에는
나를 미치게 빠져들게 만들었어

Roughly, it means
"I couldn't handle your beauty and smile ever since I first saw you.
I'm insanely mesmerized the moment I stare at your eyes."

I don't know Rollercoaster, but they are really refreshing! Last Scene is really good!
However Ibadi sounds like elevator music -___-

Well LJH does speak a bit of Indonesian (been in Indo since 2010) but I assume they speak English to eachother, I dunno really. Oh yeah:

Jakofest is an abbreviation for Jakarta Korea Festival. Indonesians tend to abbreviate a lot. (Korsel = Korea Selatan (South Korea) Internet = Indomie Telur Kornet (Instant noodles with egg and corned beef))
4th most populous country and most people live on the smallest island.. weird huh? Most overseas Chinese live in Indo too and they make up only 4% of the total population.
It surprises me that Indo is getting much better with their English language skills. Foreigners won't have a problem in the big cities, but be warned: Indo is still a 3rd world country, the poor labourers (cab drivers, market people, maids, etc) only know the words yes and no embarassedlaugh.gif Some of them can't even speak Indonesian (their local language is their 1st language, Indonesian is their 2nd) Even I have a hard time to communicate with my family's maids lol

You can watch old English-subbed SNSD TV shows in this channel.

http://www.youtube.com/user/soshisubsclassics

"Soshified" is the biggest international online community for SNSD fans aka Sones. They get very quick updates. You can find lots of info there. "Sone" is known as a very dedicated fandom. This Thai Sone speaks it all.

Soshified Homepage
Soshified Forums

For the upcoming schedule, they will attend a K-pop event in Paris and then fly to Bangkok for a concert on this Sunday.

Guckkasten #207

Are some of those dialects also used for printing and broadcasting or is there strictly one official language?

Btw, you have "maids" at home? eek.gif Just how big is your home?

..I just got back from Paris for the weekend :P I guess I went too early CRAP! I don't care about SNSD actually, which other artist will come to perform? fin.k.l.! fin.k.l.! fin.k.l.! fin.k.l.!

Here are some bands you probably don't know but may like:

Biuret #203 uhm no, not my cup of tea! too darkish / metal like rock, pour moi!
Bye Bye Sea (안녕바다) #220 This is just awesome!
Guckkasten #207 Sounds like Hillsong United! biggrin.gif
Nastyona #266 Love them! sounds like the good ol' 90's punk!
Peter Pan Complex #243 Sounds nice! Indo also has a band named Peter Pan.. notorious for the sex scandal embarassedlaugh.gif

Are some of those dialects also used for printing and broadcasting or is there strictly one official language?
Not just dialects.. languages (± 700 living languages) and more than 300 ethnicities whereas Javanese people make up 40% of the total population. eg: "Thank You" in Indonesian is -Terima Kasih-, while in Javanese it's -Matur Nuwun-, it's totally different! Now you know why I have a hard time lol
Eastern Java & Bali still use sanskrit for the street names next to the romanization. There's even a tribe that's using Hangeul as their writing system (introduced by South Koreans of course) But for broadcasting Indonesian is used to unify all ethnicities.

Btw, you have "maids" at home? eek.gif Just how big is your home?
I don't. My family and friends! I'm planning to buy an appartment in Bali so I can put it on rent!
I think all South East Asian countries have maids if the household is of upper middle class or above. Heck my fam is made out of architects and dentists, they at least have 2 maids, 1 babysitter and 1 driver lol. While they live on the island Java, it's not a surprise that all of the 'helpers' are Javanese

Ok enough about Indo.. it's time for Korea talk icon_smile.gif

You know doggyji, all the band you've mentioned previously have all a refreshing sound for me, what I've heard so far is just r&b/hiphop/pop sounds. The sounds were good for my ear, thanks!
I'm still searching for an awesome soul/blues artist (male) from SK.. Maxwell/Anthony Hamilton/Musiq Soulchild kind of sound ^_^ anyone? You know, that simplicity, easy sounds, pure from the heart and soul. I mean with the r&B scene SK has to offer, there ought to be a soul artist, right?
Oh yeah which Korean movie is topping the cinemas right now??

Edit:

Se7en is coming back with a new mini album! http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/se7en-new...ial/id501295142 rockon.gif

^ The language situation in Indonesia must be a gem for linguists. eek.gif

Fin.k.l. disbanded a loooooong time ago. Move on with the times! embarassedlaugh.gif SNSD will perform for Music Bank and appear on two popular French TV shows, "Le Grande Journal" and "Le Journal De 20H". B2ST, 2PM, 4Minute, Sistar, SHINee, U-Kiss and T-Ara will also be there for Music Bank in Paris.

As for soul singers, have you heard about Brown Eyed Soul? Naul and Jung Yeop are also individually popular. I guess their music is closer to R&B in general. This song was very popular.

This is the current Korean box office chart for the past few days.

1. 범죄와의 전쟁: 나쁜 놈들 전성시대
2. 부러진 화살 (Unbowed)
3. 댄싱퀸
4. 점박이: 한반도의 공룡 3D
5. 파파
6. Happy Feet 2
7. Puss in Boots
8. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
9. I Don't Know How She Does It
10. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

I don't know the official English title of "범죄와의 전쟁: 나쁜 놈들 전성시대" yet.

Good Korean movie review site: http://koreanfilm.org

For TV drama, 해를 품은 달 (The moon embracing the sun) is popular at the moment. It seems like a story about a shaman. I haven't watched it yet. Han Ga In is the lead actress.

Watch "The Moon Embracing the Sun" with Eng. sub

True, like for Stuart Jay Raj! I think he's Australian, famous in Thailand for knowing 23 or more languages. As for him, Indonesian is the easiest language to learn, yet Javanese is the hardest! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csfHuFNlQgY...5ivvf3QP3k9P_SS (His answer starts at 6:00) You can hear the difference right? Javanese has a lot of -oh- sounds it's like tje gorilla language, ugly!
I guess Indo is totally the opposite of ROK :P

Hey I can still hope for FINKL to reunite in Paris right? OH WHAT THE f-CK! 2PM, SHINee, U-Kiss will be there? Crap I have their songs on replay on my iPhone >.< I love Ring Ding Dong, Love like Oxygen, Neverland & Hands Up.
Sh¡t sh¡t sh¡t I should go back! how much for the ticket/when/where about it Paris is it??? lol damn you couldn't mention this sooner ay?

Doggyji, you are awesome! Brown Eyed Soul is superb!! Thanks a lot man! Ya know more?
Sunshine sounds like 'Walking on Sunshine' to me with a bit of funk it it.... So irretating lol

To first two movie titles sounds great! are they action/thrillers?

Interesting! What he finds difficult in learning Javanese is very similar to what many find hard in learning Korean. Technically, there are seven grammatical speech levels as well as the honorifics in Korean. Very social setting specific.

There's no other girl group you like? embarassedlaugh.gif For me, "Replay" is still the best song from SHINee. B2ST's "Fiction" sounds good, too.

Fancams are being uploaded on YouTube now. Ticket prices were 70~100 Euros. Music Bank has a plan to visit Jakarta in May.

[Fancam][Music Bank in Paris] SNSD "The Boys" (It looks Taeyeon got a crappy mic. icon_twisted.gif From what I read, the overall sound system was pretty subpar. Mubank should stop being so cheap.)

I'm glad I gave you the right band. How about Bobby Kim?

[2004][Live] Bobby Kim feat. Younha "It's Alright, It's All Good" (Originally, Yoon Mi Rae was featured)

R&B duo Vibe.

[2003][Live] Vibe "오래 오래" (For long)
[2003][Live] Vibe "사진을 보다가" (While looking at pictures)

This wiki site is handy.

Nameless Gangster
Unbowed

Some AFers may remember Chocolat. One girl disappeared for some reason so they are a 4-girl group now. They are not popular yet but they are steadily building their career.

[2011][MV] Chocolat "Syndrome"
[2011][Live] Chocolat "I Like It"
[2012][MV] Chocolat "하루만 더" (One more day)

Ailee, a new vocal powerhouse debuted.

[2012][MV] Ailee "Heaven" (I see Jesus lol)

Yeah, and that is happening in Korea too. mostly among the young poeple. sometimes it's efficient. but sometimes there are some criticisms because of thinking which that kinds of abbreviation ruins Hangeul.

SNSD performed on French famous tv show "Le Grand Journal".
The atmosphere of the stage looks much more exciting when compared with those of American tv shows for me.
Their clothes on this stage remind me of some French guard of honor uniform in 18c lol

SNSD performed on French famous tv show "Le Grand Journal".
The atmosphere of the stage looks much more exciting when compared with those of American tv shows for me.
No comparison. The studio was very lively. I'm amazed by the French Sones shouting fan chants in Korean. "지금은 소녀시대, 앞으로도 소녀시대, 영원히 소녀시대!" embarassedlaugh.gif The girls will travel a lot this year.

Thai fans are preparing events for the concert.

IU's new MV filmed during her visit in Tokyo. Nice orchestra.

[2012][MV] IU "Last Fantasy"

There's no other girl group you like? embarassedlaugh.gif For me, "Replay" is still the best song from SHINee. B2ST's "Fiction" sounds good, too.
Yes there is, vocally not the same but they got swagger! it's 2NE1! They remind me of TLC (only 1 can really sing and the rest got swagger!) btw TLC is my all time favourite girl group.
Replay is your most likeable song from SHINee? I'm annoyed by that peeping instrument throughout the song now, but check this out.. my iTunes library must be wrong!!!!

Sumpits Playlist
confused.gif I don't get it that it got played that much! they even beat Prince.. wth!

Fancams are being uploaded on YouTube now. Ticket prices were 70~100 Euros. Music Bank has a plan to visit Jakarta in May.
Yeah, thanks a lot.. NOT! haha
J-Town is too far away for me man.. mweh. I might visit next year again. This year it's just going to be short trips to london, rome, athens, maybe barcelona =( sigh!

I'm glad I gave you the right band. How about Bobby Kim?

[2004][Live] Bobby Kim feat. Younha "It's Alright, It's All Good" (Originally, Yoon Mi Rae was featured)
He's good! Nice calming voice, that song should've been solo though, her voice is not calm!

Ailee, a new vocal powerhouse debuted.

[2012][MV] Ailee "Heaven" (I see Jesus lol)
XD they did that intentionally didn't they?!!

Yeah, and that is happening in Korea too. mostly among the young poeple. sometimes it's efficient. but sometimes there are some criticisms because of thinking which that kinds of abbreviation ruins Hangeul.
I guess we use long words in our vocabulary that pronouncing them gets tiresome for youngsters!

How about this kinds of cute/fresh 90's songs? i like it.

Kim Gun Mo - Excuse (1993)

Weather Cast - 좋아 좋아 (1996)

Those two songs are awesome! man, ROK was even good back then with the whole music scene?!

Se7en Lands in Fifth Place on Billboard World Chart! (With "When I Can't Sing". Just one spot behind SNSD's "the Boys") http://global.mnet.com/news/newsdetail.m?s...4&nowPage=1

Se7en - When I Can't Sing
Se7en - Somebody Else Is it me, or does this song lack power? When he sing 'nobody else' he should make that run last longer and sing to a highter note

..I heard this on the radio?!
B.A.P. - Warrior

This song is jamming!! I don't like the concept that they all bleached their hair in the MV. blond equals warrior? Heck, black hair is more scarier/warrior like to me..
