Life in a post apocalyptic world, what would you do? Options

Imagine the world as we know it dead and gone buried beneath the ashes of some great cataclysm. Social order remains in some of the larger cities but do the roads becoming the homes of highwaymen supplies are becoming few and far between. No more big government to keep its eyes on its citizenry the best and worst of people have been brought out. Manafacturing is at a standstill and industrilization as we know is no more. Slowly the world is regressing to simpler time and even now cities are becoming states.

How would you fare in such a world?

These sexy females who know how to fight and use a weapon can join me I'd get my 2 armored SUV's 6 assallt rifles with grenade launchers and 1000 rounds of ammo with ample food, water, clothing and supplies. We would fight against any crazed zombie aliens in our way and head toward the marina and sail to a remote safe island all together. If I knew I was going to eventually perish, I rather die a happy man

4 vehicles would be better. Just remember the more armour, the heavier the vehicle, the more fuel it uses and the likelier it is to get bogged. Vehicles need spare parts, tyres, oil, water and coolant. Knowing how to troubleshoot and fix them is essential as well

Trust goes both ways. What if they ask for something valuable of yours??

They wish to join me, not the other way around. If they dont agree to the terms, then they dont tag along

In a post apocalyptic world, one is either very mobile and constantly traveling to sites for food and fuel
Or one is safely stashed away in a fortress with enough supplies to last until another crop of food can be grown.
In either case, the community of people must be enough to do all the work needed for survival
But, small enough as to not drain all the supplies before a new crop can be grown.
This means no monogamous couples in the beginning. Too small a number would quickly diminish.
Too large a number and resources would quickly diminish. Societal rules must be bent for the greater good.
Hmm, I don't think I like this brave new world.

If you have a fortress, its in your own interests to have recon and scavenging parties constantly leaving the fortress. Knowledge is power and the environment and situation may be ever changing so its important to know whats going on in your surroundings. Extra tools, scrap metal and equipment is always of use as things will break down and need to be repaired

Camera's make for faster reporting and safer recon.
Hmm, scavenging?? I assume one needs resources but it has to be balance with the dangers involve in retrieval.

and how are you going to get your camera outside of your fort?

unless you send out recon parties, how will you know the dangers involved in scavenging?

If you have a fortress then I'm pretty sure that the cameras would have been install prior to the apocalypse??

That's what the cameras are for ... scavenging shouldn't be the priority
Fortress should have adequate facilities to produce most of what is needed??
And, the rest should be in storage??
Well, that's if all the preparation work was done right??

But, I don't see to many fortresses unless the people behind them had lots
and lots of money as a huge resource to fund such activities.

I assumed you meant cameras out past the fortress. If you're talking cctv cameras on a fortress, thats not recon. You'd be lucky to see a few hundred metres. Terrain, radio communications and vehicle mobility will determine how far you push out.

I would imagine most fortresses would be established after the apocalypse and wouldnt have all the necessary supplies. Most would be regular buildings that have been fortified with scrap
