Vietnam's role in Cambodia's killing fields Options

The world knows that it was Vietnam who created the Khmer Rouge, and the world also knows that it was Vietnam who had a dysfunctional relatonship with the Khmer Rouge. The world also knows that it was Vietnam who never put an end to the Khmer Rouge resistance and used it as a pretext to occupy Cambodia militarily for 10 years. The world also knows that Vietnam still plays the political interfence in Cambodia.

Now as the international tribunal is putting the remaining surviving Khmer Rouge top leaders on trial, Brother Number II Noun Chea is asking the court to INVESTIGATE Vietnam's role in Cambodia's killing fields because according to Brother Number II, the Khmer Rouge's Policies were made in response to Vietnam's political role in Cambodia at the time.

Can't wait for the juicy details to turn up. Vietnam has always claimed that it SAVED the Cambodians from the jaw of death, but actually the jaw of death was created by Vietnam after all.

Oh yes, Vietnam and the Khmer Rouge were and are the best of friends until these days. You should read books written by Communist Viet authors glorifying the contributions to the greater causes of Ho Chi Minh since way back during the resistance against the French and the Americans. The Vietnamese commies and the Khmer Rouge back in those early days had an agreement to help each other took over Vietnam and Cambodia respectively. However, while the Vietnamese commies in the Northern Vietnam were defeating the French colonists, the French already granted Cambodia an independence status, thus depriving the Khmer Rouge from taking over Cambodia directly with the Vietnamese help. However, the Vietnamese commies refused to give up the hope for their Khmer Rouge comrades, so they invaded newly INDEPENDENT Cambodia to strengthen their position at the Geneva Conference. However, the Vietnamese were ordered to withdraw from Cambodia and as a result their comrades the Khmer Rouge had to go underground or get killed by the new government of the independent Cambodia.

However, the north Vietnamese commies refused to abandon their ambition to be the sole rulers of the unified Vietnam. So they started to fight the Southern Vietnamese forces. The Americans got involved and soon the the Vietnamese war flames spread to Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge took the opportunity to attack the Phnom Penh government and they succeeded. The Vietnamese commies also took over the South Vietnam.

One thing led to another and so on and so forth, the Vietnamese commies and the Khmer Rouge were fighting each other this time. Now they are labelled as "Brother Enemies". Eventually, some Khmer Rouge defected to the Vietnamese side and they came back with the Vietnamese help and they succeeded in toppling the Khmer Rouge leadership in Cambodia. So this was written in the paper, but the truth is deeper than that. Lol.

You see, the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge had a very intimate knowledge of each other in almost everything. In fact each team anticipated one another's military tactical movements very precisely. There was a reasons why the Khmer Rouge leadership elected not to defend Phnom Penh. Remember, Khmer Rouge troops and leadership were not harrassed by the Vietnamese troopers at all but they were allowed to retreat instead.

After the ruling Khmer Rouge leadership was removed, the Vietnamese commies now supported the Khmer Rouge members who helped them capture Cambodia. So technically, the Khmer Rouge members are still controlling Cambodia with the Vietnamese commies support. The Russian obsevers at the time wrote that after the Vietnamese took over Cambodia and installed a new group of Khmer Rouge to be in charge, there was another uprising within the new appointed Khmer Rouge group. So the Vietnamese commies removed one Khmer Rouge faction out and kept the other group which continues to this day as the sole rulers of Cambodia in the present.

The Vietnamese commies are very deceptive in the roles in Cambodia's politics and only the Khmer Rouge know their "Brother Enemies" well.

what you wrote could be more reasonable....if you had hard facts to back it up. i think i could find references to help you out, but i don't want to promote it, at least not at this time.

cambodia has more issues to deal with right now than its past. what has happened, happened. unless we live in the "back to the future" movie-era, then things might be different, but we live in the present. things are tough right now; cambodians have local issues to deal with. until things get better, let's just look forward to improving for a better cambodia in the future.

I just wish alllll the khmer rouge leaders and anyone who's involved should be on trail. It saddens me that there are those who are still in politics and acts and walk around as though they had done nothing wrong. Aren't they lucky they have Hun Sen as their leader....lucky basteeerds.

The Youns didnt help defeated the Khmer Rough! The Youns told the khmer rough to disband because they are going to move in and take over Cambodia! The Youns told a lie to the world and said that USA and China supported Khmer rough! Which is completely false! That's why USA and the western politicians are going to put the the viets on trial for the murder of our people and for lying to the world!
