Mistreatment my arse. Even during the Civil War, both Ngo Dinh Diem and Ho Chi Minh hated the Chinese gangsters, who collaborated with the Japanese and the French to oppress Vietnamese rebels, and exploited this relationship to gain immense level of wealth from illegal activities. This historical betrayal revealed to all Vietnamese that the Chinese minority can never be part of a new nation, whether it's modern South Vietnam or a new united Vietnam. Any Asian countries with a large Chinese minority will always be weak and poor--Phillippines and Malaysia will never reach high per capita income for this very reason. The only two countries in SE Asia with huge potentials are Vietnam and Indonesia, simply because there are no more Chinese parasites left to suck the economic bloodline from the people. Seriously?U heard of Singapore? And isnt vietnam one of the poorest countries in SEA? |

Good analogy. You Chinese are as thick as rock..never learn. We are eggs eh? Ever heard the phrase eggs harden in boiling water? I personally do not want to go to war against 1B+ mindless drolls. But if it comes time to shove, we'll defend our borders to the last man.
Well, you should be glad that our leaders love peace. Last year when conflict flared up over the Spratly Islands, every time I visited Baidu, there were threads after threads on how we should beat up Vietnam again. (These were not nationalist forums; many people there were liberals.) If Vietnam gave us an excuse, then its last twenty years of progress will be over. It's really a case of 以卵击石 - using an egg to hit a rock - an idiom which probably exists in your language, too. 多行不义必自毙 - He who regularly does unrighteous deeds will perish of his own accord - Another idiom which probably exists in language, too. ... My understanding is that the leaders of your nation would like to work with our nation in a peaceful and harmonious way. It's wisdom which allows them to see things this way. I have nothing against Vietnam per se, but Ilikeasians's comments forced me to participate in a discussion from which I would rather have abstained. |

He comes into this forum to take potshots at Chinese people. Expect him to stay around with more "wise words" to spew. |

a cracked egg in boiling water floats upward. A rock sinks regardless of temperature. This is a fitting analogy for Vietnamese people in time of struggles.

Wow. Are you really that thick? A rock is inanimate. An egg hatches into a beautiful little chicken in auspicious temperature. When you boil an egg, it hardens, but the chick dies. A rock never had life so nothing happened to it. So an egg is superior than a rock.
