what's your opinion on disciplining children by spanking or some other form of corporal punishment?
i think it's only appropriate under one circumstance: when the child does something life-threatening. the other day my 3-year-old nephew defiantly darted out of the yard and into the street, where he could have easily gotten hit by a car. i spanked him. there's some dangers that are so deadly that you can't risk merely telling the child to keep away. they need something really poignant in their mind to deter them. my nephew won't be able to look at a street without remembering that spanking he got. It depends on the situation. Kids have undeveloped brains so it is natural for them to forget about rules. However, there are some really spoiled kids with attitude problems. Those types of kids need to get a beat down.
