US dollars is now 76 yen, but 5 years ago, it was 115 yen, and even before, japan was too expensive to produce
japan can no more sell products, because japanese products too expensive some japanese told USD dollars are even 50 yen next 5 years future japanese economy must move to services, finance, R&D like USA. japanese companies move out of japan, and look to overseas. many years ago and even now, taiwan, south korea, china made OEM products of japanese products and parts and assemblement before, but now even better than japanese companies in multi fields. japan made average 100 billion USD (by memory) per year by licensing the technology, research, to foreign nations. instead, foreign nations make more money using japanese high technology and pay like 5-10% of economic profits to japan . japan should do the same to vietnam and to indonesia, and increase the friendship between japan and vietnam. japan cannot produce the goods, so no competition relationship, but the mutal benefits to both nations. alos, many technology in japan is not econometized, because of too strong yen, and probabbly new class of business can starts in vietnam japanese banks also loaned moeny to korea, taiwan, and china until 1997, 90% of korea foreign loans from japan. japanese banks can also loan money to future promising vietnamese companies. What's with my response? We all know how you love Japanese and Korean through your promotion of Filipina brides in Japan and Korea. No need to hide.

Great, i have been in many Viet-Japanese traditional festival, i realised that we really get along well, and i kinda like Japanese life style.
I think Vietnamese have a lot of economic potential, together with Japanese i think we can form a new economic power, a new organisation which have a lot of potential, then Viet can leave SEA which potential is limited. Chinese goods is of course can be mass produced easily, but its cannot compare to Vietnamese products quality. On top of it, chinese good is more and more expensive and can compete with Japanese in the near future, so why don't we shake our hand and make ourselves stronger. I like your ideal, mister A-i-sờ-lan-đờ Bờ-rô-đơ. This post has been edited by ThuongLuong: Sep 10 2011, 08:18 AM |

This is important - it can buy Japan some breathing room to plan and setup strategies for the future. Japan needs breathing room after all that's happened(recession, heavy competition, earthquake, tsunami...) Likewise, Vietnam gets hands on high tech training. To he a high tech industry, one needs lots of trained workers that can read resisters, solder, assemble circuit boards etc... This would help jump start Vietnam's own Technological industry. The Koreans started in the 70s with ship building and 40 years later they have gain significant world market share. Vietnam can do the same. |

What Vietnam needs the most right now is to develop its supporting industries. Japan and Korea have been a lot of help through their investments in Vietnam. Kudos to both countries. Vietnam should not only wait for sourcing work to gain the technical know-hows, but it needs to go on a shopping spree to buy up foreign companies. This will be the quickest route toward developing its industrial base.

Vietnam is heading in the right direction. It got a lot of catching up to do. The trade embargo held us back 10-15 yeears in the 80s. We need the government's focus&support for incubating the domestic supporting industries, either through joint ventures or technology buy-outs. I'll say this in Vietnamese because I don't want to unintentionally offend some people and cause pointless fights...
