This is a great evidence from a third party research (Japanese) on Khmer dance. It indicates that Cambodian court dance is actually from Siamese court dance, not Angkorean *tradition*.

Ancient Siamese = Khom. Khom ruler spoke Sanskrit so they name themselves sanskrit Syam. It's Syambhu = son of god. beerchug.gif

For Khmer, you tell me Khmer is Indic word we Thais call you? um... that's great. biggthumpup.gif So it's must be from Tai words Kha + Men, then we write it to Indic form so we got Khmer. beerchug.gif
