I saw a lot of spam in the forum.
I have several ideas to fight spam: 1. Capcha and simple math question during the new member registration, like five plus three equal? 2. New users aren't allowed to post a link to another website until his post exceed 10-30 posts. 3. New users aren't allowed to create a new topic until his post exceed 5-10 posts/reply. What do you think? |

What do you think? ATTENTION CHIEF MODERATOR: Spam is now endemic here. It will kill the site if not cured. I have already greatly reduced my postings here because Spam ruins my efforts. Why should I bother if the Moderators are too busy to clean up the mess? Moderators are overloaded as they don't even removed the spam after reports are submitted. Find good posters around the globe and appoint them as moderators to help out. Plenty of volunteers willing to help. Ban Spammers and Kill Trolls. You have to act fast or people will vote with their feet. This post has been edited by elleX0: Oct 23 2011, 04:41 AM |

I got this from the China History Forum today :
In order to limit the rising spam problems in CHF, we have decided to impost a mod preview for the first post by new member. After the first post is approved by the moderator, new member will be able to post freely until 30 posts limit for taking Imperial exam I hope we can undertake this measure to reduce irritating spam in CHF. Why don't something like this be done? |

We can't even have any discussions because the spammers are making it hard to tell if there has been any recent responses in threads.

most of the current mods are not even here anymore. the mods that are left sure dont like to do it. ben doesnt care about this forum anymore. or if he did, his management skills are subpar at best.
frankly, i think discussions of other viable asian forums should be discussed. |
