"No other place in the world, does the US soldiers enjoy such immunity over the crimes they perpetuate."

in retrospect, things haven't changed much have they?

US needs to train these soldiers better. Respect locals etc.. Some common sense and culture differences should be deployed.

I t is reported that US troops stationed in Okinawa, Japan, called the local prostitutes 'Yellow Stool'. It is not only humiliating to Japan, but also to Korea as well. Such word is a good indicator of how US soldiers look at the local people.

Even to these days, when they are subjected to south Korean police investigation, US soldiers frequently say "how dare you Koreans treat an American soldier like this’.

How came they are not behaving like this in Germany, it seems they think they can do whatever they want in Japan and Korea, and the two countries do nothing about this so nothing will change.

because germans are more assertive. they would protest if they were treated badly. also they are whites and most americans are of german stock. with east asians, they are excessively mindful of public harmony so they are least likely to make a protest when they are wronged (and if they do they are quickly silenced or ignored by the pro-US governments in korea and japan). i read most of the rapes in okinawa are unreported, unsurprisingly.

Like with all bullies when you stand up to them they will respect you.

Also it's being handled.

exactly. i mean it's an issue of political imbecility and castration. there's no one in korea or japan with the nerve to say: "gtfo of here" to the US. how pathetic is that?

About as pathetic as an Iranian, who has no vested interest in Korea, telling Koreans what they should or shouldn't do.

I call it pathetic when I see someone hounding this forum time and again simply to push a pro-China, anti-US stance. And you know what? I'd be fine with that if you were Korean or lived in Korea. Then I'd know you at least had some inkling of life here.

But it is interesting you don't see reports of such behaviour in western countries where US soldiers are stationed.

Generally speaking, you do see reports like his whenever soldiers are stationed near civilians. Some are accidents, some criminal. But they do happen.

If you lived in Korea, you wouldn't have to ask that question.

Please, go and find out some things about this country before you go acting like an expert on it.

i never said i was an expert. but this piece of interesting fact has confirmed, yet again, the true intentions of the US military presence in korea. why are they building bases in civilian areas like the cities? why not near the DMZ? hmmm......

Why don't you actually leaner about this place before you go spouting off?? Seriously, it's borderline asinine now.

Learn about the history of the base in Seoul - it's a long and interesting one.

Apparently it is... US (not all, just majority) seems like a bunch of spoiled little brats.... US seems to have some sense of entitlement for some reason...
