FC Seoul signed Rio Ave's midfielder Ricardo Nascimento (31). The player, who never got to play in any big team in Portugal, has allready been in 10 different clubs, including
Montpellier (France).

By your logic, I guess one can come to the conclusion that every European club that's signed South American or players from different EU nations snapped up players to "learn" from them?

I guess Arsenal signed Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Van Persie, 'Nando Reyes because they thought the English can "learn" from the French, Dutch, and Spanish. (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif)

This is how the business of club management works...

A club sees potential and usefulness in a player, they go out and buy them. No more, no less.

Carry on...

As far as I know, Arsenal did change quite a lot after Arsene Wenger went there.
And, as far as I know, even a medium 1st portuguese league player is a good player in Korea, and can have valuable teachings for the youngsters.
Do you think that we are not also doing that?
Maybe not on soccer, but for some reason the voleyball national coach is cuban...

Would they be an asset to a club? sure. Does that club's football squad "learn" from one player being signed as you've just implied? Obviously no. you'd have to be deluded beyond all recognition to think so.

And in Arsene Wenger's case, of course Arsenal became a better squad because guess what... he's a manager, not a player.

You're implication would actually mean something if FC Seoul signed a Portuguese manager.

In fact, Pohang Steelers snapped up a Brazilian manager recently. Now THAT club will learn "something" from him.

when you hire a player with 31 years old, you can expect that he shares his experience with all the players....
