Japanese people are polite--only to white people. They tend to look down on other Asian groups. I don't blame them. They're the wealthiest Asian country.

i don't think it has to with wealth. japan is not the only developed country in asia and i imagine even lot of the people in shanghai or beijing are richer than average japanese. it's just a cultural thing.

That's not true. There's a hierarchy of who they dislike. I'm Southeast Asian so I rank at the bottom. Their view has everything to do with the country of origin, even if you make it in a foreign country. When I was in Osaka, I can tell they're very "annoyed" that I speak English in front of them but as soon as I open my wallet to buy their stuff all smiles. Japanese are just like anyone else but for the most part they're decent people. One thing I like about Japanese women is that they marry mostly Japanese men, none of this cultural dilution by offering the goods to white men. Japanese media are also full of Japanese people, none of this happa worship so prevalent in Hong Kong and Korea.

Yes, but there are sizable numbers of these mixed Asian (with white) celebrities in HK and Korea. In Japan, even Japanese adult stuff are made by 100% Japanese men and women thespians.

Sizable number? They are very few popular half-white celebrities in Korea. Daniel Henney was big because of his drama several years ago but he looks more Asian. Who else? There are half-white celebrities in Japan, too. I don't understand where you get all this weird idea.

i don't know where you get this idea but what i have seen so far is that japanese women have been with foreigners more than other asian ethnicities plus there are alot of foreigners in Japan.
As for Korea, i have seen foreigners there but not that many like Japan.

No, you are wrong. Just because you see that "many half offspring" in media doesn't mean japanese in general are the same. (I don't know how many percent of that offspring compared to the whole japanese population that you could draw conclusion like that). Pls give me the exact number. It's like just saying this area has a lot of gay people then you conclude that US has alot of gay people but the truth in what you see is not.
I have listened and watched japanese media for atleast 8 years. This is the first time i have heard someone say japanese media has many half white-Japanese offsprings, but the truth i haven't seen even one. Of all the japanese songs i have about over 3000 of them from 70,80,90,00s, none of those song's artists are half-Japanese, they are all japaneses. That means what "likeasia" said above is true. Japanese has their own media with their own people, they don't like anyone else, even K-pop are not that popular in their country, some want to exclude them.

You are a westerner, you may use your observation to tell things around but the truth is not so. As i'm an asian of sinosphere, i was born and raised in this culture. There are alot of teaching, learning ,experiences in the culture i was born and that's not something that can be taught, i just doubt japanese if they have changed their mind over decade ago. Or else they are just like us asians...
