Yeah, I think that could be the case as well. Taiwanese today who have aborigines ancestry are now like 7/8 Han Chinese, 1/8 Taiwanese aborigines. Taiwanese aborigines blood already diluted and no longer exists in any meaningful way, which is why YDNA and mtDNA of Taiwanese aborigines are not detected in Taiwanese today.

Right, and even then mainland Chinese probably have some traces of Austronesian admixture as well. So it'd be like saying >5% more Taiwanese Aboriginal admixture makes them a different race. Doesn't make much sense. I've heard it said that up to 25% of Japan's ancestry is Ainu, but most tests don't check for their markers.
