Long...long ago, I chanced upon shamanic literatures that talk about the rise of the Mongols in the 13th century. A few interesting facts (best as I remember):

yet you Chinese love to make films about the Khan. What is it about the remaking "Condor Hero" like every year? Secretly, Chinese like you love to associate yourself with Mongol people. I see Chinese children dress in Mongol clothes all the time. On the other hand, we Vietnamese don't do any of that for we fought Mongol warriors and was able to defend our land. For this reason, we get respect from other Mongol people. I don't think any Mongol people respect Chinese.

If you-Chinese took over Inner Mongolia after defeating the Mongolian Army, we-Mongolians will NOT complain because it could have been our fault! But it was NOT! Even in 1945 when you-Chinese were already 650 million and Mongolia had 1 million people only, you had NO chance against 70-thousand strong Mongolian Army that was the most capable army in Asia after, perhaps, the Mighty Japanese Kwantong Army who slaughtered you like plague carrying rats!

You did what you are excell at - Bribery and Corruption!
