The Father of Modern Laos

Auguste Jean-Marie Pavie (Dinan 31 May 1847[1]- Thourie 7 May 1925) was a French colonial civil servant, explorer and diplomat who was instrumental in establishing French control over Laos in the last two decades of the 19th century. After a long career in Cambodia and Cochinchina, Pavie became the first French vice-consul in Luang Prabang in 1885, eventually becoming the first Governor-General and plenipotentiary minister of the newly formed French colony of Laos.

I think that NungTinbao is right. I couldn't imagin that Nanzhao was Tai because the majority in this old kingdom was dominated by Tibetan people, but aren't the Baiyue or Yue the ancesters of the Vietnamese and are the Baiyue Austronesians or just Daics?

i think he is wrong, Nanzhao and dali powers were built by lao or thai. here is a article which is writen by chinese.

All i know is that they are related to the Zhuang people from southern China

but i think thai and lao people are much different from zhuang in southern china, four tones among thai language are same as chinese mandarin.IF ancestors of thai and lao are limited just in LUOYUE and XIOU, how could explain this things? I think Nanzhao and Tali states were built by thai and lao people. During this period, YUE people were divided into two major groups, one has his power in Yunnan, another ruled by chinese in Guangxi and Guizhou. Languages are different from each other from this time.for example, เมือง means city or nation in thai and lao people, but zhuang and buyei don't say so. เจ้า jao means king, equals chinese 南诏的“诏”,most Zhuang and Buyei people don't say so either.

Sex industry and Mafia business ????? WTF

Thailand is a Buddhist country, unlike Laos PDR communism is their religion.

Most Laos people even illegally cross Mekong to sell their pussy and @$$ in Bangkok.

You can see all hookers in Thailand speak Laos because Laos is a language of prostitute.

Most hookers are ugly dark skin and speak Laos, when they moan they moan in Laos!

Thai know that these low life hookers are Laos, it is a FACT that Thai think of Laos ethnic as poor/idiot/lazy/short/dark skin/square face/flat nose etc.

When we see those ugly poor/idiot/lazy/short/dark skin/square face/flat nose people we all know they are LAOTIAN.

This is a decent elegant Thai girls...

This is a future LAOTIAN KAREE(WHORE)... normally little girl regardless of race are cute BUT Laos girls are ugly since they were young they fit this category (poor/idiot/lazy/short/dark skin/square face/flat nose) well

Don't make me laugh, "Lao Face look like Mongolian face" <-- That's only in your DREAM. Are you another East Asian wannabe??
Laos face look more like apes from the jungle. The same for all LAOS KAREE in Thailand.
Have you really ever been to Laos PDR? People there have dark skin and ugly as hell.
People around the world all know that Laotian are ugly dark skin apes and everyone like to make fun of.

Is he from planet of apes...

These two farang laughed at dark skin apes while taken a picture with them... seem like a freak show... indeed...

Let me correct you. Nanzhao was ruled by Yi and Bai people. Dai were minorities.
