negritos are are an archaic branch of "asian" people that travelled along coastal routes to reach asia.

genetically, they are distant from actual Negros but phonetypically, they are dead on.

trace elements of negrito heritage can be found as far north as Korea

southeast asians in general, SOME cantonese/fujianese, SOME japanese have obvious negrito-esque looks to them

"Negrito" can also be used as a slur for asians with negroid-esque features like jutting jaw, broad nose, portruding forehead, fat lips, high slopping skull.

i use the slur quite often especially back in high school (which had a 40% Vietnamese population)

I just prefer the slur "NanMan" to refer to the "negritos" from south of the border (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarassedlaugh.gif) 2

SuperNanManSP, I don't know why you seem proud of using a word as a slur? Hope you only do it among friends.

Full-fledged? I thought you were from Taiwan or something. Are you saying that you are from a Native Taiwanese tribe or a flat out Negrito? (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_neutral.gif)

Jutting jaw, protruding forehead, and high sloping skull? That description sounds more caveman-ish. I honestly haven't seen many people who look like that in any race.
I'm not a Negrito, but being "Negro" I can tell you that most of the "Negroes" I see don't have that type of bone structure either.

From what I've seen from the pics posted on here of Negritos, they seem like pygmies. I even read that most were something like 5ft.

Are Negritos supposed to be the explanation attributed to some Asians having Afro-like features? Because if that's the case, there's a lot of explaining to do considering the number of people I've seen who look like that.

Dzr is just a confused Asian kid with an identity crisis and thinks of himself as "nigga". You know people like him. They are the Asian version of obnoxious Wigger (= White + N*gga.) They dress in baggy clothes or urban hip-hop outfits. They speak in fake, laughable ebonic accent and slangs like "nigga", "bro", "pimp", and "ho." They have no sense of identity, pride, or how embarrassingly ridiculous they look and sound. They just want to be black (and they have not looked into the mirror lately.) Dzr calls himself as a "negrito" as a pathetic attempt to qualify and justify himself as "nigga bro'.

Going through his posts he doesn't sound a thing like that. And could you quit using the word "nigga" every 5 words (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_confused.gif)

Sorry about the "N" word.

Still, I know I am right. Dzr (i.e., the guy who started this thread) is one of those.

For goodness sake, people, get your own identity.

dude go through his posts. The guy talks about issues in China, can speak and read it, and i didn't see anything related to black culture at all (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_confused.gif)

Chances are he was joking if anything. I've never seen anyone on this site actually claim any negrito heritage. Seriously anyway.

Like Jasel said, I've never seen dzr post anything that would indicate being a "confused Asian kid". Besides, there are some Asian kids who have grown up around blacks and therefore feel more comfortable by associating with black culture. I don't see anything wrong or confused about that. It just means that person is a reflection of their own environment.

By the same token, someone could say that an Asian kid who has grown up in suburbia and has mainly been influenced by White culture is "confused" as well. It still does not make it so.

You're right. He's probably joking I've just scrolled through his old messages and found his old pictures. That guy is 100% Chinese--prominent Chinese features, very fair skins, etc--there is not a single trace of blackness in him.

Still, I am annoyed by dumb Asian kids who pretend that they are black.

Lately, I have not seen too many Asian men or boys who act white. There was a lot of white-washed Asians back in the 1980s and early 1990s, but not since the mid or late 1990s.

I think it is the healthy dose of reality that has slapped some sense into them. I personally know quite a few older Asian males who wanted to pretend they were white because they wanted to "fit in". I know they have found out the hard way that white would never accept those Asian males as being one of the white. Over the years, those white wannabes had never gotten invited to any "white" fraternity or social club, they had never dated too many white girls (if any at all,) and they had never promoted to a high position (e.g., CEO) by the white people they worshipped. Over a decade or so, they finally have to face the reality.

So nowadays, I have not seen that many white-washed Asian males... not as many as before anyway.

There are still Asian females who act white... but then Asian females are more easily accepted into the white society (mostly through marriages) because white dudes love Asian women.

But now we have Asian males who act BLACK. Urgh.

Well for the most part that labeling of "acting black" is extremly annoying. Like all blacks act the same and listen to rap, speak ebonics, wear baggy clothes and crap like that. Should I say that a white guy with glasses, a 2 inch penis, who studies all the time and couldn't get a girlfriend unless he paid her is "acting asian" (IMG:http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/icon_confused.gif) No. You should say acting ghetto or into hip-hop culture or whatever.

Yeah, I should have. Well, but most people associate acting ghetto or hip hop as acting black, and acting ghetto/hip hop does have its root in black culture--and it is still a prominent feature of the black American culture.

Like I said, if the person grew up around blacks I don't really see a big deal if they act like the people they grew up around (there are plenty of Asians who grew up around blacks). It's natural.

It's when people who come from priveleged backgrounds or places that obviously have little ghetto-type influence that it's silly (like that Edison Chen kid...)

It's just a fad. Hip hop culture can be seen as a way for people to try to seem tougher or cooler than they really are.
