Yeah they broke up now, I sure loved their gothic rock songs, man, malice mizer rules... But after gackt left, there's a replacement, his name is Klaha I think... but still Gackt was better, the Gackt era... aaaah ~

Of course they changed after Gackt left and Kami died. During the Gackt era Malice Mizer's music was more French influenced, if you can put it that way. When Klaha came in, there style turned way more gothic. Personally I liked both vocalists, and I can't decide which I like better. However, I don't think Gackt would've fit in with the direction Malice Mizer was heading during the Klaha era. Klaha's vocals were more suited for that. Whereas Gackt's vocals were smooth and silky, Klaha's vocals were more powerful and opera-like, which fitted the gothic persona of Klaha-era Malice Mizer. Anyways, no matter what era, they were always awesome.

I think MM music is quite good, as in composition and singing (mostly Gackt & Mana), but I never really got into it. But I'm happy Gackt went solo, cause he has made so many great songs that wouldn't exist if he still went with MM, it would have limited his creativity & talent, range of voice.
I like Cube, Doomsday, Luna, Sakai story, Last Song, Todokanai and lots of other Gackt-songs.

aw i love the Sakai Story, it's a beautiful piece of music
