In 1988 i was travelling through Indonesia and happened to be asked to act in the movie " Permainan Di Balik Tirai" by Rapi Film company. I was in Jogjakarta at the time. It was a great experience and met some very nice people. Unfortunatley i have never seen or been bale to get a copy of the movie and would love to for nastalgic reasons, as good or bad as it may be.

Anyone out there that is able to help me, i would be internally grateful.

OMG the golden years of Indonesian exploitation cinema !
... Jaka Tuak ... Golok Setan ...
Some of those old movies made by Rapi Films are really bad and you need a lot of wine to enjoy them in a perverse way.
The dialogue was dumb, the acting was typically cartoon-like and the stories of most of those genre films were brainless, and the only good thing about a select few of the brightest was that they had a maverick spirit and sense of nutty fun.
I read somewhere that one reviewer found a hidden subtext of themes about women's empowerment and feminism in that crappy movie called Perawan Disarang Sindikat (US title Virgins From Hell) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Talktohand.gif) but to me it looks like typical titty titillation aimed at male fantasies.
Still the GRrl power thing is there in the way they get revenge against those dopey pantomime villain men.

Yeah, in the same genre as Chuck Norris action movies.
I have only seen the English dubbed version on Youtube, but I couldn't sit through it. The story is about Indonesian freedom fighters against various villainous varmints..... but it was really dopey.

I read this thread excitedly. What a cool informations! I'm few of these lucky people because my family never showed me the propanda movie so I didn't glorify Suharto that much.
