Monkey invading neighbourhoods is starting to be a big problem in certain parts of the country. They can be very aggressive and hurt ppl. The authorities should do something to keep their population down. They have turned into a dangerous pest.

^Another game would be to use the banana leaf stem (pelepah daun pisang) and you cut just a little bit down the stem in down the way. You then flip them all open perpendicularly and when you push them all down in one sequence, it makes a nice "pap pap pap pap" sound.

I don't know whether anyone here has heard of "hamburger", but we played it a lot in primary school. I'm a bit fuzzy on the specifics now, but I think it involved the players piling their hands on top of each other, and then playing rock, paper, scissors to see who would get to pull their hands out. The last player would have to have his hands slapped by the second-last one or something like that.
Another one I enjoyed because of my high pain threshold was one where you took on another guy one-on-one in rock, paper, scissors. Each turn, the loser would get his palm slapped by the winner. The loser would be the first one to give up. Due to my extreme tolerance for pain, I almost always won. |

I loved playing that gun. Another gadget that works on the same principle is a pistol loaded with a matchstick. You light up the matchstick and release it . The match flies off with an awesome sound. |

hahaha..i dont remember being so scientific when i was playing baling seliper when i was small anyway...all i remembered was making sure i'll just jump sideways whenever the sliper is nearing me
i used to play that getah rope thing too...played with the girls though...it was fun...we had chances to do cartwheels while jumping to the next level and stuff...it was cool.. and i could never aim well at the monkeys behind the house so at the end i gave up and covered things up by saying that its immature to kill animals i loved playing with toads too..even until now...we have a fish pond in the house and i always like to see the toads swimming and mating hahha boy..that sure was fun.. |

Aiyu. Their hands are so tiny. How are they going to carry all that marbles in one hand and distribute it among the holes on the board. Poor thing.

After I won enough marbles in congkak, I'd used them to 'main guli'. This is mostly a boys' game. The girls were never really interested

Looky , Looky, I found a website that explain how to play our folk games such as Konda-kondi , sepak raga , Jala Itik, Galah Panjang, Gasing , Guli, teng-teng and much more... but it's only in Bahasa Malaysia.

Sounds fun man.. if you understand Bahasa Malaysia, the link that I posted above explain how some of the games being played. I think kids these days not very much into it.They like to stay at home and play starcraft,CS,guildwars and other videogames instead of go out and burn their lazy fat @$$.. Thats why U'll see many obese kids today compare to the old days.Lack of exercises and movement.Thats the 2nd factor besides eating too much fast food that can lead the kids to obesity. you know how Malay used to say "Bapak Borek , Anak rintik" which mean father and son are the same. now come new version of it. "Bapak buncit , anak pun buncit" which mean , Father has fat tummy, and so does the son. This post has been edited by rx7boy: Nov 15 2005, 07:00 AM |
